I have to say I'm with the minority that didn't find it scary -- rough, yes, fun and bumpy, yes, but not scary.

In the interests of full disclosure, however, I'm too scared to ride Splash Mountain or anything with a dip. Forced myself to do Space Mountain last trip (never again because of the roughness, not the intensity). Loved Rock n Roller Coaster, but I'm fine going super fast, even upside down. Tower of Terror frightens me while in line, but I like riding it.

It's the sensation of feeling like I'm going to fall out of the car that terrifies me -- the plunge forward and DOWN. So even the baby roller coasters that don't even require BELTS are too intimidating for me, while with shoulder restraints I'll ride the big ones!

My eyes are closed from when we go back in time until we're back again. Eyes closed, ducking and clutching whomever is near me's arm :lol:

The first time I went on it, it was still called "Countdown to Extintion" ( spelled most likely wrong) It scared me, it was soooo loud as well, my picture Im ducked down and covering my ears and my eyes are soo shut I had to buy it I looked so funny, plus my best friend who was sitting beside me looked like she was in the crash position.
Now even with the minor changes it still scares me. DH found it extremly loud when he went on it last year, louder than before but he was a bit sleepy walking around AK so it was a perfect way for him to wake up without having any caffine

I'll have to show this thread to my daughter. We still laugh at the ride photo that we bought when she was eight years old showing absolute terror on the ride. She says the therapy sessions have helped her get over it. By the way, the dinosaur is based on a real dino whose remains were first found in Argentina. It's called a carnotaurus and was used in the Disney Dinosaur film.
