hi,

as you enter the Animal Kingdom at 9am, which ride would you go on first out of Dinosaur and Kilimanjaro Safari?

thanks.:D

Not sure. It seems that everyone heads to the safari first thing. Both rides have fastpasses but are not near each other. I think if you went on the safari first and then to dinosaur, you would not have a wait for either. If you went to dinosaur first, you might have a wait for the safari. If you do the safari first and there IS a wait for dinosaur, you could get a fastpass for it and do other things in Dinoland until your fastpass time. Clear as mud?

I usually do Kilimanjaro first thing in the morning. Even though most people go there first thing, the lines still never seem that long. I usually do this in the Summer though when it's very hot latter in the day and the animals arn't very active then. If you're going in the cooler months, the animals are usually more active later in the day as well and it really doesn't matter too much when you do the Safari. In the Summer, I would recogmend doing the Safari first and then Dinosaur later with FastPass. In the Winter, I would probably switch it.

Do you have to jog or walk fast to the Safari in order to avoid a long wait? I hear that the majority of people go to Safari the first thing in the morning. We are a family of slow movers. I think we would be at the tail end of the pack if we go to Safari first. I am wondering if we might be better off if we went to DinoLand first, go to Kali, go to Bug, then grab a FastPass for Safari. What do you guys think???

If you go into AK when it first opens, you should be able to walk at a reasonable (slow) pace to the Safari and still not have much of a line to wait through. Some folks will walk very fast or try to jog, but we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, and I won't go too fast. No point in wearing yourself out right at the beginning of the day.

After the Safari you can head over to one of the early showings of the Festival of Lion King before it gets too hot. (No AC) I think this is one of the best shows in WDW.

We usually do Dinosaur later in the day with FastPass as it is one of the few "cool" attractions at AK.

I think the best way to handle it is to send one person to KS to pick up fastpasses for everybody, then meet at Dinosaur and ride it. Then work your way through Asia, doing Primeval Whirl, TTBaB and Kali River, then you should be ready for your Fastpass. You'll have circled the park in the opposite direction from how most people do it, and you'll still get on the Safari in the morning.

We always go to Safari first and work our way back to Dinosaurus. On our trip last week there was no wait at Dinosaur.
