Dinning with the Sharks?

We're gonna be at Sea World on June 18th, for half a day since we plan to go to the WDW water parks in the morning, we should be at SW by 1. We plan have some dinner with the sharks. Is it any good? How hard is it to get in for dinner?

Two years ago (in late June), we had no trouble getting a same-day reservation for Shark's Grill. Go to the shark area/restaurant entrance when you arrive at the park. They will take your name and tell you what times are availale.

We enjoyed the meal, scenery, and escape from the heat. We are looking forward to returning in a few weeks on our next vacation. The food was very good. The kids' meals came with a souvenir cup holder.

We just went to the Shark's Grill on Wednesday. It was our priciest lunch of the week...4 adults and 2 kids came to 250 with tip.
My one son didn't want a kid's meal...he prefers "regular food", but the steak was $32, so he just split with the adults. So, 1 kids meal and 4 adult entrees, bottle of wine, a few beers, one dessert was $250. The food was good but portions are small. It was enough for me, but I think my dad wanted a bit more! The atmosphere was beautiful, but the service was slow and not up to level that you would expect from an upscale menu.

I had a seafood trio and the scallops were cheap bay scallops, not Peconic bays. I expected 2 or 3 real Sea Scallops for the price. It was good, but not what I expected.

Overall, it is pricey for what you get. You are paying an amusement park premium. I think Mythos at Islands of Adventure provides similar, if not better quality, at half the price...our lunch their was only $140!

I've eatten there twice since Oct 08 and enjoyed it both times. Once I had steak and once I had salmon. It is a pricer meal, but for me and my mom the portions were a good size.

If you are not a annual pass member you cannot make advance reservations. They can only be done at the park day of. If you are going during a peak season, I recommend making that your 1st stop of the day early. We arrived at 10a and walked directly to the resturaunt and we were 6th in line.
