Dinning room chairs?

so do all your dinning room chairs match? how many do you have? someone was giving me a hard time today since 4 of my chairs match and then the other two match each other and the last one matches nothing.

I'd tell that friend that unless she wants to buy you a set of matching chairs, she should just not worry about it.

Ours do. We only have four though, so during holidays and times when family comes over, we have to pull out all sorts of mix-matched chairs.

I agree with Liberty Belle. Some people need to learn how to mind their own business!

baby- thats my problem. My best freind visits regually with her kids and hubby. They eat here a LOT. So I picked up 3 freebie salvaged chairs so I could seat the seven of us. If my man stops by then we drag in the wooden patio chair.

My kitchen chairs don't match and I like it that way, it adds more to the room AND they are comfy. I have a set of dining chairs for guests that are fashionable but NOT what I want to sit on in the morning.

That's how I feel about my mix matched kitchen, I would rather have a lived in kitchen that doesn't match then a unused kitchen like in the commercials.

Ours all match and there are 10. We get teased about the size of table and chairs, but we use all 10 chairs a lot! We are a family of 5, so its easy to have 5 extras.

Your friend needs to see that you are being GENEROUS by purchasing chairs specifically to make HER family comfortable! You are a good friend.

I am so non-observant that I probably would never notice.

ours match, but it depends on the style you're going for...sometimes its cool to mismatch....and if its just for special occassions, who cares

Its not that hard to notice that the three of the chairs dont match. Ones got a square top (other 4 are round) and two are umm HUGE (and a totally differnt style.

We only have 6 dining room chairs, they match, and 4 kitchen chairs, plus a huge matching bench, for the kitchen, and our kitchen table is actually bigger than the dining room table.

Mine all match. The kitchen table and 4 chairs was a set we bought and the dining room table and 6 chairs was a set we got from my girlfriend's aunt when she moving form her big house into a smaller place.

I see a lot of those design books where non-matching but "coordinating" pieces are very popular.

I have 8 chairs that match then 2 chairs that match each other- but go with the other 8. I pull those in when I need more seating.

I have six chairs at my dining room table. The chairs are the same but I reupholstered them and used different fabric on the two arm arms. The remaining 4 chairs all have the same fabric that a coordinates with the arm chairs.

My kitchen chairs are oak and they all match. There are 4 regular chairs, 2 arm chairs and a bench. The bench we generally keep in our entrance way.

We have 6 matching for the sides and 2 matching for the ends. The only difference with the 2 end chairs are they have arms. The others don't.
