Crystal Palace lunch
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Kona Cafe dinner

Sorry no pics but I will give a review of each.
I wanted to note that when we ate at TS restaurants that were NOT buffets they all let DD(10) order off the kids menu. DD and DH hated the whole wheat buns that now come with the hot dogs and hamburgers.
***Caution, rant coming!***
If my kids are not over weight, and eat responsibly at home, why do they have to suffer at WDW? Every kids meal has really gone downhill. Lowfat Mac n cheese!! Come on! Give a kid a break. I was fine when they offered a healthy alternative for kids, but to force it upon my kids when I am paying top dollar for my WDW vacations just isn't fare! OK, rant over, sorry!;)

Olivia's
Originally we had ressies for all 4 of us. Our kids ditched us and wanted to go to the Sandcastle Club!
So it was just DH and I. I originally booked it because we were staying at OKW, it was our arrival night and I thought it would be convenient. It was a long trip to get the kids to the BC from OKW with no car. We just made it back to Olivia's in time and that was because we took a cab back!

We were seated immediately for our 6:30 dinner. Our server was very nice and good. We were given a pineapple/coconut bread that neither of us liked. Nothing wrong with it we just don't like that type of bread. We shared the mozzarella salad appetizer which we both liked a lot. We both ordered the Penne with chicken. It was OK. We both felt the same about it. Nothing special, just OK. It was in a light creamy sauce, not too much with cheese and garlic. We both had sodas and we received 10% off because we are DVC members. With tax the total was $46.34

We thought it was just OK overall and wouldn't go out of our way to go back. We actually felt that way about the resort too!!:lmao:

Next up Chef Mickey's breakfast.

We didn't have an ADR but called in the morning looking for dinner at Chef Mickey's. There was no availability but the CM on the phone said she had an 11:20 breakfast available for that day so we took it. We aren't big breakfast eaters but DS had a picture he drew for Mickey he wanted to give him and we thought this would be the perfect opportunity.

Chef Mickey's Breakfast
We arrived on time and had about a 5 min wait. We took our family photo and were seated on the first level, far right where the buffet began. Our server was OK. She took awhile getting the dirty plates and was hard to find sometimes but she was really nice. The character interaction was great! DS got to give Mickey his picture and that was worth the price for the breakfast. He really had a special moment with Mickey that was priceless. On the buffet they had bagels, muffins, fruit, eggs, Mickey waffles, biscuits, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, french toast, breakfast pizza, donuts, brownies, danishes, and mini pancakes. That's all I can think of. It was a really great spread. The only thing is with breakfast buffets, by the time you sit down to eat the stuff you put on your plate, it was already cold. I ate the waffles, pancakes, bacon, hashbrown, and biscuit. Well, that's what I put on my plate, I only ate the bacon. Everything was cold and the hashbrowns were really greasy. My DD(10) ate a lot, DS(5) very little, and DH ate enough to fill him up. It wasn't our favorite meal by a long shot. We will not go back for breakfast, but maybe we will try dinner. We have had dinner there in the past and enjoyed it. It is a great way to meet the characters and the atmosphere is fun. The total with tax without tip was $87.29.

I hear ya about the kids meals.. I too am for healthy choices etc, but I would like the choice not feel forced to "make" my kids eat it! looking forward to your Kona review..

Originally we had ressies at the Captains Grill at the YC. Since we had a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's we took this day to ride the monorail and resort hop at the monorail resorts. We spent a lot of time at each resort. So while at the POLY I decided to change our dinner to the Kona Cafe. We have eaten there twice in the past. Last year we had a bad experience with our server but the food was very good so we gave it another try.

Kona Cafe
We easily made 5pm ressies the day of at around 2pm. We were seated on time and had a really great waitress. We ordered the wings for appetizer and they were as good as we remembered. Really, they are so good I can't stop thinking of them!LOL We ate them all up as well as the bread which we all enjoyed. DH ordered the noodles and pasta which he thought was good, not great. I had the beef teriyaki(which is what I ordered on our past 2 visits) and it was just as delicious as I remembered. It was cooked exactly how I liked and requested. It was so tasty and not fatty at all. The mashed potatos were great as well as the broccoli(which had a really nice flavor). I ate so much I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating my food it was so good!! Both kids had the Mac n' Cheese which they thought was good. They made ice cream sundaes and naturally loved them! No dessert for DH and I. We are not big dessert eaters. Total with tax, without tip was $70.32. worth every penny and we will be back!!

Next up, lunch at the Crystal Palace!!

Crystal Palace
We arrived on time and had maybe a 5 min. wait. We had a great, friendly waiter and were seated on the right hand side of the restaurant. We have been here before and it did not disappoint! All the food was fresh and very good. What I really love about it is all the options. You have chicken, meat, pasta, veggies, potatoes, kids choices like mac n' cheese(the kids loved it) chicken fingers, pizza, pb&J, deli meats, salads, rolls, desserts like cakes and cookies and ice cream. We ate like pigs!LOL The character interaction was great too. DS had a picture he drew for Tigger and it was another great moment! Total price for lunch without tip but with tax was $79.84.

Spoodles
This was the day we had lunch at the CP, so we weren't hungry for dinner until late. Our kids abandoned us again, LOL. They wanted to go back to the Sandcastle Club and we took them there. They ate dinner there. We had no ressies and tried calling to make one and everything was booked. DH gave the suggestion of Spoodles since we hadn't been there in awhile and it was still close to where the kids were. I was able to get a ressie for 8:10pm and I called at about 6:30pm. We arrived on time and given a buzzer thing. Our table was ready less than 10min later. The place was still busy but wasn't loud. We have always liked it here in the past. Well, I have to say it was the best meal of our trip!!! Our server was fantastic. We ordered 2 appetizers and one entree and had it all come out together so we could share it all. We had Margherita Flatbread which was OK. Nothing wrong with it, we just thought it was OK, nothing special. Maybe it was because the bread wasn't like the flat breads you get at some resort counter service locations, like the one at SSR, or CR. Anyway, we also ordered the Tomato-Buffalo Mozzarella Panzanella. OMG, this was fantastic! I dream of it! I must find the recipe and try it at home. It was so flavorful and just fantastic, I didn't want to share with DH, but I did! Word of caution though, if you are not a huge fan of balsamic dressing and pesto, don't order this because it is swimming in both! We both loved it so much. Then we had the pan fried chicken cutlet without the ham. This was huge and perfect for us to share. It was fantastic and we both loved it and ate the whole thing! It was a light dish too so you didn't feel overly full after eating it. The chicken was perfect and had no fat. It had a lovely salad on top in a light vinagarette. Just delicious. With 2 sprites, tax and no tip the meal came out to $43.20!!! Great price, great meal, great service!! We will go back!

Next up, 50's PTC and Counter service reviews......

YUM....I just adore Spoodles. We've only been twice but it was excellent both times.:thumbsup2

50's Prime Time Cafe
We have been here many times and this has always been a favorite of ours. We had ressies for 1pm and arrived 10 mins. early. The place was packed! We were seated about 1:10. It took our server awhile to get to us but she apologized, apparently they had a big spill at one of her tables she was cleaning up. DH and I were both really looking foward to our favorite dish, the pot roast. I usually get the caesar salad as an appy but it wasn't on the menu! I was a little annoyed, but got over it. We placed our orders and DD was allowed to order off the kids menu. DS was able to order the chicken nuggets with a side of mac n' cheese. DD had the hot dog. DS hated the mac n' cheese. DD tried it too and said it was gross. She hated the hot dog, wheat bun!!! DS did like the chicken nuggets. Neither of them ate their appy which was a salad with horrid dressing, I tried it, and the soup which was good to me and DH but my kids don't like soup. So it was a bust for them, than goodness for ice cream sundaes!!LOL DH and I had the pot roast and it was not as good as usual. It was OK, and a much smaller portion than normal.(we have had a bigger portion at lunch time) We left there feeling it would be the last time we would go there for awhile. Oh well, can't win them all! The bill with tax, without tip was $60.42 One thing that annoyed me a bit here was our server who kept telling DS if he didn't eat all his food she wasn't bringing him his ice cream. Well after about the 4th time I snapped at her and said that if the mac n' cheese was edible he'd eat it all up! She then told me about it being low fat and most kids don't like it. DS is 5 and was suffering from his allergies and was on meds, you could see in his face he was not OK. It just annoyed me she kept at it with his chicken too. I told her he doesn't have to stuff himself just bring out his dessert. I usually don't get like this but she was on my last nerve!LOL

Counter Service

Sunshine Seasons
We always try to eat here. The variety is great and the food is really good. We ate after riding Soarin and we had time before our fast pass time to go back and ride it again! So my kids got the kids meal mini subs. They only had ham subs out and I asked for turkey subs and was given 2 from the back. I'm not sure why they weren't out but if you want turkey, just ask. It came with turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a small roll, applesauce and a drink. DH had the rotisseri chicken with mashed potatos and carrots. He liked it and ate it all up. I went to the Asian section and had 2 sides(white rice) and 2 entrees(the beef and sweet and sour chicken) The guy serving was really cheap with the amount he scooped up! I should've said something cause I have gotten a much bigger portion for lunch in the past.(please don't think I'm a pig I don't eat breakfast and by lunch time, I'm hungry and I don't snack between meals so I like a nice size lunch) The food was very good, we found a table quickly even though it was busy and lunch time. The total was $36.23. That also included 2 drinks and a banana. I thought it was a great deal! We will go back.

Refreshment Port
I know, McDonalds at WDW! We never eat the stuff at home so my DH and kids like to share a nine piece chicken with large fries and a McFlurry! They loved it. I don't have the receipt so I can't tell you how much it was, sorry.

Goods to Go
This is the counter service at OKW. It was pretty good except for the wheat buns on the hot dog and hamburger. We had a cheese burger combo(with fries), DH said it was good. DS had the kids meal turkey wrap and he loved it. DD had the hot dog and you can guess what she thought of the bun!;) I had the chicken nuggets with fries. It was a lot and DH and DD helped me eat it. With drinks for everyone the total was $32.95. I don't plan on returning to OKW, but it I was there I would go over to the Turtle Shack and try one of their flat bread pizzas. We never made it over there, too far from our room.

Wolfgang Puck Express
We can't go to WDW without eating here at least once. This is the one in the Marketplace that was just renovated. They added more indoor seating, changed the inside set up and out door seating area. The place looked great and it did not disappoint! I lost the receipt so I only am going by memory but I think it cost about $46. DH had the spaghetti with meatballs. They allowed him to get penne instead of the spaghetti. It came with a bread that was like a pizza bread. It also came with a salad, he got the caesar. Nice large portion. He also had a coke. I had the Spaghetti with Tomato, Basil, and Garlic(which I normally get) I added chicken and got penne instead of the spaghetti. It also came with bread and a salad, I also got the caesar and a sprite. It really was a lot of food but we took our time and ate it all!!! The kids each got a kids pizza and they both ate it all! DH and I tried getting a bite from them, we did, a small bite, and it was really good pizza! When we ordered and found a table, a server came over to us, chatted a bit about the renovation, got us silverware and napkins and told us if we needed anything to let him know. He was always within eye shot incase we needed something. He checked on us to make sure we were OK. It was like a table service at a counter service and even more so now than before. When the food came out it was hot and delicious. We will definitely go back and it was one of the best meals we've had! The best in our kids opinion, and 2nd to DH and I to Spoodles. It is the best counter service!!!

I wanted to add something about the DDP. We had originally had it and then cancelled a few days before our trip. I am so glad we did. We use to love the DDP when the tip and appetizer were included. It just doesn't work for our family. We probably would've saved some money if we went with the DDP on this trip but, we like appetizers, not dessert, and DD would've had to always order off the adult menu. I liked being able to order how I wanted, like at Spoodles ordering 2 appetizers and 1 entree. We weren't trying to save money, we just happen to like the appetizers there!

Sounds like you had a nice trip... we leave in 2 days... EEEEEK we are eating at some of the places you reviewed... THANKS
