What happens if you request the dinning plan on your reservation, but when you get to the resort you change your mind.
Will they make get it?

I'm asking because our vacation is in three parts - Wilderness Lodge, Disney Cruise Line, and Bay Lake Tower. We are going to get the QS plan for the Wilderness Lodge and I'm not sure if we are going to like it. If I add it to my reservation for the third part of our trip can I cancel it once we get to the resort?

Thanks!

I wonder if you can not have it included now, and just add it later if you want. Rather than risk trying to take it off (and get them to give you $$ back), I'm sure they'd be happy to add it on and take your $$ later.

It has to be added before your arrival, so no, you can't just add it when you get there.
To answer the original question...don't know. I do know that I have had the dining plan for many of my DVC stays. BUT....this time, when we arrived at BWV, and I went to pay for my dining plan with some gift cards, I was told that my dining plan was paid for already! Seems that when I did online checkin, and provided a credit card, Disney automatically charged my credit card for two dining plans...didn't much matter that my friend was going to pay for her own dining costs and I had gift cards for mine. I wasn't happy to say the least.
So....you may not want to do online checkin if the resorts are automatically charging credit cards for the dining plan. Might make it hard to remove it when you get there.

You need to make any changes involving the DP with Member Services at least 48 hours in advance.

Other wise you are at the mercy of the front desk - they may or may not grant you an exception to the policy. My bet would be on "not".

If you do not like the QS plan, call MS from the VWL before you leave for the cruise and cancel it for the BLT reservation.

You can add it or take it off (I believe)48 hours prior to check-in. If you have the Cruise in the middle it won't be a problem.

Last year I let a friend use some points and booked the meal plan for him. When he got down there, he was told that he had no meal plan and they would not add it on without 48 hours notice. When he got home and told me what happened, I phoned member services and complained. They then got hold of the phone calls that I had made to reserve the meal plan ( I did'nt know that they could do that) found out that it was there mistake and they gave me 16 points on my account PLUS four 1 day parkhopper tickets as an inconvenience.
