I'm hopful this will be seen as a disabilitites ???

OK, my friend will be accompanying me to WDW and spending a couple of days. I will be staying a coupe of days longer. We want to do the Dinning Plan, but here is the thing. 1st, she had the bypass, and now eats VERY LITTLE!! I had a simular surgery several years ago, but I eat small adult type portions. She on the other hand, eats what perhaps a 6 year old would eat, then sometimes she can keep it down, others she can not. As adults, the dinning price is around $40.00. We are both OK with paying full price for adults, but since she will be leaving out a couple of days before me, I'm left with paying for her adult plan. That bites a bit.

Anyone ever have any of this type experiance? Thanks.

I would cancel the plan and just pay for your food. If you think about it you will save lots!!

I had gastirc bypass 7 years ago and I too eat a small adult portion. Usuually I still share food with my husband and we eat more often and then just go to buffets knowing im paying for the experience not the food.

Ill bet the days you two are together you will be able to share some and cut out a lot of food budget. You can go sit down meals and still eat for cheap this way.

I agree, if you are both relatively small eaters, cancel the plan and split table service meals (except at buffets, of course) and you'll come out a lot cheaper than the plan.

I also agree...you will probably spend time worrying about the value of your dining plan and there's probably no way you can eat an appetizer, entree, and dessert every day for dinner let alone all that's offered with the quick service and snacks. If you do choose the plan, have your meals at the signature table service restaurants which use two "choices" when your friend isn't with you. This way you can also do the dinner shows if you'd like and not run out of "choices". Still, the best idea is to do your meals a la carte without the plan. That's what's nice about the new MYW tickets, etc.- everyone gets to choose what works best for them and you aren't forced into one single pricing structure. ---Kathy

Disney portions are rather large on their own. We normally eat a sm breakfast, sit down lunch & then a snack for dinner b/c we are still full from lunch. Personally, I would cancel the dining plan & just pay out of pocket. If you are trying to budget, buy Disney dollars (at the Disney store) for what you think you'll spend on food. You won't be able to spend it before hand. Any DDs you don't use can be returned for a refund if you keep your receipt. We use a different envelope for each day & that way we don't over spend & know we'll have money at the end of our trip..

I had my bypass surgery just 3 months ago and we discussed the dining plan and opted not to do it, even though there are 2 other adults traveling with us plus my son who's 2.5 yrs old. I'm able to eat a descent portion - about 3-4oz chicken and a couple of veggies or about 1/2 cup salad. I hear that some of the sit down restaurants will allow you to order from the children's menu if you explain the situation (it's up to the particular manager though) and quite often an appetizer is my meal with a couple of bitees from what my husband has. I would definitely cancel the dining plan - it sounds like you'll end up spending less money paying for individual meals.

Thank you all for your assistance. I have cancelled the Dinning plan and I believe that it will be fine. Thank you so much. For those of you that have had surgery and are at least two years out. Do you still order more food than you can eat? I still have eyes larger than my stomach. :confused3
