I've read various reviews of both Wolfgang and Fultons. We are going to AK on our last day in the parks (a Sat.), so with the closing time of 7 we should be able to make an 8 p.m. reservation at either. For those of you who have visited both within the last year or so, which would you chose? We both love seafood, but also like the looks of the WP menu. TIA for any help!

I havent heard many good things about WGP Cafe to be honest. I personally have tried the WGP Express and thought it was FANTASTIC, and far better than a lot of TS ive tried. I'd either try this, or you can try Raglan Road. Great food with entertainment! :thumbsup2

I did look at Raglan Road, but the only reservations left are early. We don't really want to have to leave AK before the park closes since it's the only day we'll be at AK. We do want to do something that we can get a reservation for, especially since it's a Sat. night.

We love Wolfgang Puck Cafe! This is a must-do for every trip. We love the varied menu and the carrot cake is to die for! We whole-heartedly endorse it. We also have an AK day on March 13 and will be headed directly there for our supper at 6:30pm.

You'd be surprised at how quick you can get thru AK. Ive never stayed there til closing. Lol. And we take our time!

To be honest, i havent heard positive reviews of Fultons either. Maybe others who have been to both can help you, but in the mean time check out the menu's and pick whichever menu appeals to your family most. Dont forget to checkout the reviews on allears. Also, dont give up checking for raglan. I check ADRs constantly and I always get what i want (even at popular restaurants) just by being persistent and patient! Good luck!

We have really enjoyed our meals @ Fulton's, we have never eaten at WP Cafe, because friends of ours went and said it was the worst meal and service they ever had, and actually complained which they would normally never do.

Wolfgang all the way! Their Goat Cheese Pizza is to die for. Just fantastic. The servers are so nice. Amd the atmosphere was gorgeous.

We've eaten at Wolfgang Puck Cafe a few times (much prefer the express actually), but I find the service is either a hit or miss and on our last trip the menu was a bit different and we didn't enjoy it as much.

I haven't eaten at Fulton's so can't comment on it, but have you thought about saving your TS credit for another day/restaurant and just eating at the Express location using a CS Credit? Just an idea...not sure what plan you're on, but if it's the regular DDP it might be an option!

If it were me, I'd choose the menu I liked better. Opinions on here are so subjective. They're not always helpful (even mine) ;). We have tried RR twice, due to reviews on the DIS, & we just don't like it. We've tried 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, & 2 desserts. The only thing I would order again was the bread pudding. I ruined it the first time by using too much sauce. I would consider trying that again, but I'd add a bit of sauce at a time. I'm not sure we'll give it another try though.

Back to the topic at hand... Are you thinking about Wolfgang Puck Upstairs or WPCafe? I'm just asking because the upstairs restaurant is more comparable in price to Fultons. If it's the upstairs restaurant, I'd probably choose that. It's been several years, since we ate at WPC. I remember the food being good, but it was too loud for us. Truthfully, that's been so long ago everything could have changed by now. We've never been to Fultons, but I'd choose that & many other DTD restaurants over RR. I've decided the best thing to do is to go with the menu I prefer & try restaurants for myself. We then know which we want to return to & which we'll pass on next time.

I almost forgot to add, you may not make it to DTD in plenty of time for an 8:00 pm ADR. I booked a 7:35 ADR at Jiko Saturday night. We left AK right after the last Lion King show, which ended at 6:45 pm. My DH & I passed up people left & right to get to the exit faster. We were lucky that the AKL bus was there & ready to pull out. We were 2 of the last people on. Even with perfect timing on the bus, we barely made it to Jiko at 7:35 pm exactly. I won't cut it that close again. Anyway, to be safe you may want to leave a bit before closing.

Yes, we were think of WP Upstairs.

That's a good point about making it on time. Do you think it would be easier to make it if we just drove to the park that day, so we wouldn't have to wait on the bus? Or would it be harder to park in DTD on a Sat.? TIA!

I've never been to WP. I would choose it over Fulton's. I went to Fulton's as part of a Premium dining plan trip. It was my least favorite meal. It was ok, not worth the OOP prices though.

I'm not sure if there are kids with you, but I honestly don't find that we need more than a few hours to do all of AK, but we don't have kids who would enjoy riding the things we skip over. If you plan on riding Kali River Rapids, make sure you plan for a stop back at your hotel. You do not want to go to dinner soaked, and for whatever reason it takes me and most people I know HOURS to dry off from that ride.

As far as restaurants, I prefer WP.

I've never had a bad meal at Fultons, but I don't think there's anything standout about it aside from how expensive it is. I realize it's Disney, but I like to think I'm getting something different when an entree is in the $40-50 range. The caveat: I'm a native New Englander that grew up with access to tons of really good seafood, so I think it would take something REALLY special to wow me in that department and it just hasn't happened here. To me, Fulton's is just average seafood fare.

What I like about WP is the diversity of the menu and the fact that there are a few different options when you're there. Again, I've never had a bad meal here, so I guess it depends on preference. If he feels like seafood and I want pork, we're covered. Sometimes we'll pass on the dining room to do a pizza and sushi at the cafe.

I second the recommendation of another poster-- check out the menu and see if you'd really like the options and go with wherever you find. I also tend to use Yelp A LOT when picking out restaurants.

I wouldn't choose Fultons! Went there last Friday. Just a prettier Red Lobster, IMO...with ridiculous prices ($30 for 2 crabcakes). The food was ok - not stellar. Our bill was over $100 for me, DH, and 2 kids meals (no alcohol).

If you won't have to worry about drinking & driving, I'd drive my own car. The buses are very unpredictable. I'd allot more time, if I were taking a bus. If you drive, park in the Disney Quest/Cirque area, & walk over. That's your best bet for finding empty spaces, w/o having to drive around forever looking for a space.

Just as an FYI, we took a cab from AKL to the Hilton DTD. It was $20 + tip. The distance would be similar, if you chose to take a cab from AK to DTD to save time.
