Can anyone tell me about this dinner. I know about the lunch at the Brown Derbynbut not much about the dinner at Artist Point. Price? Menu? If you have been to both how do they compare? What days is this offered?
TIA

Hi, I haven't done this yet but I've got it booked for Sept. 13th. (I'm surprising my hubby!) Here's what I know:

The dinner is offered every other Thursday, at 5:30 pm at Artist Point. You can book 60 days out, I think. The cost is $99 per person, or $125 with a wine flight, plus tax and 18% gratuity.

The menu includes choice of mushroom soup or field greens salad, the salmon, beef, or buffalo steak entree, and the berry cobbler or coffee-2-ways dessert. (You can see the menu descriptions on Allears.net). Presumably a non-alcholic beverage is included, but it wasn't mentioned when I booked. There are a maximum of 8 guests at each dinner. The dinner lasts from 90 mins. to 3 hrs, depending on the Imagineer's schedule. Guests receive a personalized plate as a souvineer.

Lets see, what else? Oh, you need to give a CC# to hold your ressie, and there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

I'll post more after we've actually experienced it!

this might be dumb question, but this particular type dinner (or the lunch) with an Imagnineer is NOT covered in a dining plan, right? It would be an additional cost?
I'm very interested indoing either the lunch or dinner.

Unfortunately, bkyrdmoviemom, you're correct. The dining plan does NOT cover the Lunch or Dinner with an Imagineer. I can hardly believe I'm spending $250 on dinner...but I got some very good deals on other elements of the vacation (like 16 cent round trip airfare! Thanks Spirit!) so that's how I'm justifying it. My hope is that my DH will be awestruck.

Today I bought "The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom" as an extra little surprise for him, too.

WHAT???? 16cent round trip?! tell me more, tell me more. We still haven't made our airfare yet...too far out still.
Could I get that book @ Barnes & Noble. Sounds like something I should pick up too!
thanks!!!

Last question first: Yes, I got all three existing "Imagineering Guides" at Borders Books; I'm sure Barnes & Noble carries them, or can get them for you (and there's no obligation to purchase... as if you're going to change your mind, right? ;))

Spirit Airlines sometimes offers eight cent, or five dollar, or other really low airfares. Fares are VERY limited, Spirit doesn't fly many places, fares go fast... you can probably go to the website and sign up for e-mail notification of their sales, or keep an eye on the transportation and budget message boards here.

We are also booked for the dinner on Sept. 13!!:yay: That is what DH got me for my b-day.
So I guess we will be dining with you mizliz!

We did the lunch last year and our Imagineer was Alex Wright--the guy who wrote the "Imagineer's Field Guide to MK/EPCOT/AK"

Kaytieelder is correct, signing up for Spirit Airlines emails will net some amazing deals! Usually the best ones come on Tuesday evenings, and you have to be ready to pounce. My 8 cent each way fare was booked in the spring. I saw the available dates and thought "Hmmm. Looks like free dining time" and booked it. I figured if we can't go, at that price, so what? But then along came Free Dining, and the rest is history. DH is very impressed with my mad bargain hunting skillz!

Speaking of which, the Imagineering books are also available at Amazon and the last time I checked, they were running a buy 3 get one free special on books $10 and under (which these are) with free shipping. So if you want the whole set, that might be the way to go!

where do i get more info on the lunch? and who do i call to reserve?
you can book by calling 407-WDW-DINE. More info is here:

Also if you do a search on the boards for "Lunch Imagineer" you'll turn up several results with Disser's discussing their experiences!
