Dinner time wait list

What are the chances of us getting the earlier seating for dinner? I thought we had booked with the first seating but our reservation has us for the second. We are on the wait list to change. Do we have a good chance of getting it changed?

I don't know how unusual this is, but on 7-27-02 Magic, we were wait listed to early dining, and got it. This cruise was sold out.

Even if you don't get it, stop by the dining room after you board and ask for a switch.

On our cruise last August, our reservation was for the late seating (said so right on our tickets). But, for some reason, there was info in the room w/ a seat assignment for the early seating. We did not discover this until more than an hour after the early seating had started. The cruise was full, and I was not optimistic and a little upset at the prospect of missing our first night at Lumiere's.

We went straight for the dining room, and one of the head waiters told us to come back for the late seating and he'd see what he could do. Sure enough, there was a table for us!

I suspect that there is all kinds of shuffling going on throughout the cruise, and if you persist, you'll likely get what you want, even if the wait list doesn't come through.

Call DCL from time to time to see if there have been any openings in the early seating. Call every day during the week prior to the 60-day mark, when final payment is due. This is when most cancellations happen, and you'll likely find an opening.

we were wait-listed for early seating this past July. Even our docs said late seating when we got them. It wasn't until we were at the terminal & had gotten our KTTW cards that we questioned the information printed on the cards and found out we had been moved to early dining. Bottom line- it does happen, even during a crowded or "full" cruise.

We just did the 10/9 3 day Wonder.

The same thing happened to us. We requested first seating and ended up with the second instead.

When I made our Palo ressies, I got us put on the list for the first seating. The resturaunt manager called by 3 P.M. and we were able to switch to first seating.

Board early and go to the designated place immediately (Deck 3 forward). You can request the change in person then. You will get a message on your voicemail before 4:00 P.M. if you were changed to main dining.

Just returned from 10/11 cruise! Everything we had said we were on the second seating list. When we boarded we ran to Sessions, to ask to be changed and we found out that on our KTTW card it said first!! We were extremely happy!!

Sounds pretty positive then. We usually eat around 6 at home so we were hoping to get the early seating. Thanks everyone!
