I seem to remember seeing one mentioned here a few days ago but can't find the thread to save my life.

DH and I have decided this is one thing we would like to do this time round. Please recommend any you have done and tell me what is great about them (and the location, bearing in mind we are staying on I-Drive with no car)

At the moment we are considering Dixie stampede (having heard some good things about it) but I would like to hear which shows you have enjoyed.

Thanks :sunny:

We went to a couple years ago and they were so dreadful, and such a rip off, we haven't bothered since.

What Gill says is correct, unless you enjoy terrible food, watered down drinks and Butlin's style entertainment, avoid like the plague! We went to the Fort Liberty (now defunked) show in 1991 - probably the worst evening of my life (apart from last seasons Champions League semi-final against Liverpool)!!!!!

Lol

Thanks for your comments - hasn't anyone got anything good to say about them :confused3

If not, can anyone recommend a good alternative for evening entertainment (again, bearing in mind we won't have a car so will be relying on hotel transport to get to parks etc).

We've had some great evenings at the Comedy Club at Pleasure Island.

Hi Wilma-Bride

We did the Dixie Stampede last year and really enjoyed it. The Meal wasn't out this world but it was definately fine considering the amount of people being served at one time, - small chicken, sweetcorn, soup, apple pie. This was my first experience of a dinner show and it was definately a good one. Little things like being able to see the animals that take part in the show, outside in the stables, having a cocktail in a plastic cowboy boot made it a fun experience. They really want you to get involved in the show and depending on what side you are seated you shout for either north or south. It was like everything else in Orlando - all about escapism. My DM and DF really enjoyed it which I was relieved about as also being from Northern Ireland, I was expecting someone to ask who the eejits were on the horses! My FIL (a.k.a Victor Meldrew) also really enjoyed it which makes me think anyone would.

I have not done any of the others but have to say that Dixie Stampede is the one I have read most good reports about which is one of the reasons we did it. IMHO it was a really good night out.

I think they're what you make of them. We visited Medieval Times on the 192 in Kissimmee last year, with 3 children, and had a great time. The more you get involved the better time you'll have. The food was good, not exceptional, but for me that wasn't what the evening was about. Enjoy the shows for what they are and you'll have a good time.

Try Wonderworks, Ripleys Believe It Or Not, Titanic Exhibition or play a round of mini-golf - all on I-Drive and close to many good restaurants.

Lol

We did Wonderworks last year but might try Ripley's this year. Have already got Skull Kingdom down as a possibility (thought it might be a laugh). Has anyone ever been?

ITA. We did Arabian Nights last year, the food was OK, nothing to rave about, but it was the horses we went to see. Although I have yet to read another favourable review on this show, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.:sunny:
