Okay, so my wife is taking me to WDW for my 30th, she knows how much I enjoy all things Disney, and she is excited too, but probably not as excited as I am :) I keep asking her what she would like to do while there, and she just keeps saying whatever I want to do. I want to show her how much I appreciate her, so I would like to take her out to a really nice dinner and do something really special. We're already going to California Grill for my birthday, and we don't really want to dress up for Victoria and Alberts. So, let me hear those ideas! Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

That is very sweet of you :D

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge was wonderful (I loved their Buffalo Steak!)

So was Flying Fish on the boardwalk.

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge was also great

To me they are all beautifully decorated; a bit more upscale; have outstanding food.

Enjoy!

How about trying to book her a surprise illuminations cruise?

They leave from YC ~ you could take her to the Yachtsman for dinner and then when you come out "surprise" time for her cruise.

I was going to say that exact same thing. My husband and I went to the Yachtsman for dinner then he said hey, let's go take a walk over to the Boardwalk, I said ok, we stopped and looked at the boats, I was reading to see how much they all were etc. Just looking around, well all of the sudden, a cast member appeared and said are you taking the Illuminations Cruise. I whispered to my husband "no, no" He said yes, we are, He asked my husband for his name, the Cast Member said ok sir, your reservations are all set, and should we use the credit card you called in with, my husband said, yes that is fine. Well he surprised me. Even my mom who was watching our DS at the hotel knew. They kept if from me, they are so tricky. It was just wonderful a beautiful ride, wonderful fireworks and awesome captain, Captain Ron. and the man I love. What more can you ask for. Oh yeah, I was at disney too. We have since done the criuse 2 more times. Just make sure you call for ressies ahead of time.

Sorry so long just great memories.
Since I lost my tags from the Tag Fairy, those memories made me feel a bit better. I still miss my tags.

Cruise eh? How long in advance do you have to make reservations? We will be there Aug 9-16, and my wife already tried to get me a PS for CRT for breakfast, but it was booked solid. I'm trying to convience her to do the Steam Train tour, I *really* want to snap a couple photos of an empty main street :)

Ressies can be made 90 days in advance. It may be booked, but give it a shot. Tell them all the days that you want to try, they are very friendly..

Here is a site that you can read about the cruise.

Good luck and have a great time whatever you choose to do.

Yikes! From reading the info in that link sounds like it'll be all booked up! I guess the chance of Disney letting me bring my own boat is about the same as letting me use my own Jeep on the Kilimanjaro Safaris :) I think I would prefer to climb on the rocks in it rather than look at the animals, the idea of my own shiny yellow Jeep sitting on the rocks next to the lions bring a smile to my face...okay back to reality. Maybe I'll give her the credit card and let her loose at Disney at Home. Shopping is her favorite hobby, although she usually just comes home with shoes.

Okay, I'm going to try for the cruise. Wish me luck on that :) How many boats do they normally have going?

Funny you should say that about the shopping! I was going to say how about upstairs at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in Downtown Disney! That would be nice, and then she can virtually melt your credit cards with the shopping available!

How about a nice massage, and a manicure..I know I would love that. :D

You've gotten great suggestions (I'll take a massage & Ill. cruise please!:smooth: ) Just wanted to say I think your wife will love whatever you do and wish you luck!
