Our first day we are planning to go to BB for the day and not use one of our parkhopper days. We are taking the train across the country and last year we learned the hard way that the train can run really late so the first day at WDW is not a good day to go to the parks (we may get in at 3:00 am the night before)

We are staying at the Swan and I am looking a the Boardwalk area or maybe at the Swan or Dolphin OR even going to another resort to eat something. Our visits to WDW have only been to MK resorts so we could use a recommendation for something around us or even going to another resort or DTD

I looked at the menus and have thought that these could be good options...
Beaches n' Cream or Big River Grille or maybe Gullivers since it is a character meal.

If we are staying at the Swan is it a close walk to go over to eat or would we be better off just staying at the S/D to eat?

IT's a very close walk. When you exit S/D you'll be in sight of the Beach Club/Boardwalk area and there will be zillions of restaurants to choose from.

Beaches and Cream is fun, fast food. There will be a wait but you can sit outside and check out the area. There are lots of well-rated Boardwalk restaurants (Spoodles and Flying Fish) and Cape May is a popular buffet at Yacht/Beach.

Good luck!

We really like Palio at the Swan! It's Italian, and very good!! If you have DC, they offer a 20% discount too!

As a suggestion couldn't you go to DTD and eat at one of the restaurants there, ie Planet Hollywood and then to to Disney Quest.

We just got back and the best food we had was at the Kona Cafe at the Poly. I had crab cakes grilled tenderloin and Cocoa Puff dessert mmmmm) We had horrible food and service at DTD at Wolfgang Puck's (cold food crummy service rude waitress). We also ate out at Oliva's in Old Key West. Food was fair, but service was wonderful!

:D

mcsmiley, my DH and I were thinking of going to Kona cafe for dinner, do you need to make reservations or can you just go? Thanks for your help!

Michelina - we were there a couple weeks ago and Kona never seemed to be busy at dinner time. There were, however, long lines for O'Hana. It's never a bad idea to get PS made, but I think you might be safe "walking in" to Kona.

You can try Spoodles, one of our favorites. Flying Fish is great (fancy and expensive, though). ESPN Grill. Yachtsman Steakhouse is great too!!

I know there are several restaurants in Swan and Dolphin too. You can check out www.wdwig.com for info on all the restaurants I didn't mention.

Have fun!!
