In order of kid friendly and overall show how would you rank the 3 dinner shows. Luau/Hoopdedoo/Mickeys Backyard. If it comes down to Disneys or Fantasmic what would you guys suggest?

Not sure what you mean by "Disneys or Fantasmic" but I can say I'd rank the Hoop De Doo highest of the three. All are pretty kid friendly, but Hoop De Doo is most fun for everyone and food is consistently good in my opinion.

I was not paying attention to what i was writing....i meant if it comes down to Mickeys BBQ or going to see Fantasmic which would you pick. (both are offered on same night)

We just went to HHDR this week and loved it! I was skeptical, but we all had a great time, DD8 really got into all the antics and loved the corny jokes. The food was pretty decent too, chicken was much better than the ribs, and we all loved the mashed potatoes.

I have only been to HDDR and Fantasmic, not SOA or Mickey's BBBQ, so I can only comment on the former.

HDDR is so much fun and has good food; something for the entire family to enjoy. It does take up 2 TS credits but my family loves it and asks to go back on every trip.

Fantasmic was a great show, doesn't take up any TS credits, unless you do the package. We skipped this on our last 2 trips because it is very loud and you have to wait a long time before the show starts. These were 2 deal breakers for us and our youngest. We are going to try it on our next trip though, with the package so we don't have to sit for an hour before the show starts.

If it was a choice between the 2 for us, we would go with HDDR.:thumbsup2

You just said the key word for us. LOUD. My 4yr old holds her ears when a train comes by so we may want to wait a few years.

I LOVE Fantasmic, but it can be pretty intense for the younger ones as far as volume goes like a PP said, so you may do well to wait it out until she's a lil older.

I totally agree with the PPs about Fantasmic and very small or timid children. Best to wait till they're a little older.

Regarding the dinner shows: I am a huge fan of HDDR. I think it's a wonderful show for families of all ages, so it gets my top vote. But some WDW trips are all about the kids, so if you have little ones who are nuts about the characters, interaction, getting up and dancing, then perhaps Mickeys BBQ would be a better choice for you. (But it's not air conditioned. If you're like me and wilt in the heat, this might not be ideal). I've never attended the luau because of the less than stellar reviews I've read.

I would give Fantasmic a shot. My four year old isnt a huge fan of loud noises and we were in the front row, left side of the ampitheater. She was so entrhalled by all the sights and the amazing feel of the show she wasn't even bothered by the noise. You can always sit up top away from the main action too if concerned.

I would pick HDD and in fact we are squeezing it in for our Dec trip

I would also do the Fantasmic show...we did it when our twin girls were about 4 or 5 and they didn't like loud noises, but were fine with Fantasmic. We were sitting pretty far back...not sure if that helps.

Our kids love MBYBBQ best. We've done it twice & were bummed that we couldn't get a seating there on this past trip. They weren't that excited about HDDR. They also love Fantasmic. Haven't tried SOA but would love too!.
