Hi everyone:

Looking for some information regarding changing your dinner seating. We booked in July04 for May05 and could not get early seating. I thought this strange, because when I checked Dis website, there were a ton of cabins left, even Cat 12. I called Disney directly and indeed, all early seating, GONE!
I got them to put us on the waiting list (family of 6), what are my chances?
Has anyone been moved to early from late? Would love to know experiences, we went on Dis cruise last year, same time and got early, no problem. thanks

Can't speak to your question......but I don't think you will be disappointed with late seating, it makes for a much more relaxed cruise, and opens up a legitimate reason for 4 meals a day!!!!

I asked this last week, and although some people did get switched, the consensus is that most likely it will not happen. The best chance from what I have been told is when people get to the cancellation point, tht's when you are likely to get the early.

For our cruise this past July we booked in March and were waitlisted for early seating. In the meantime I decided that late seating would be fine for us (I am not sure that TA relayed that info to DCL). When we got onboard I found out that we did get changed to early seating. Early seating was fine, but we are going to try late seating for our next cruise. Being in the mountain time zone, I think late seating will be fine for us.

I worried about this too since we were wait-listed for the early seating. I called and called and no one I spoke to gave me much hope that I'd get the change I wanted. We just got back from our cruise today and I'm happy to say that my husband (while on a mission to make ressies for Palo's) had no trouble at all requesting the dinner seating change! The funny part is that at least 2 nights of our cruise I'd wished we had the later seating. We're the type that wants to stay in the ports as long as possible and rushing back for dinner made it a bit difficult. The good thing about the early seating is that my kids did behave better at dinner than I'm sure they would have had we waited until 8:30 to eat!
Good luck!!

Only secret I do know that will get you a definite switch is if you have a medical note. My 17 year old son who has cancer was told he would be automatically moved to early seating if the doctor said so. My son said "NO WAY"!!!! He likes that he can eat all day and still have dinner later in the evening....lol. I have heard that alot of people get switched if they ask once they board. :)
