Dinner review of Victoria and Alberts

Thank you Uncleromulus for the great V&A review. I have been waiting to read your review. Now we will be waiting to read your review in September. I'm sure it will be just as good. :)

We went to V&A's for our 15th anniversary on May 7th... Our first time! We LOVED it! Had the wine pairings, and a FABULOUS dinner! We'll make this an annual tradition from now on. We'll go again in August! The wine pairing turned my beer drinking DH into a wine freak! LOL!

WOW! I think you have me sold! We have been kicking this around for a couple of weeks now. I have to ask how "youth friendly" is V & A? We will be there in Sept for my folks 50th anniversary and boy this sounds like a fabulous
place for a very special dinner. I wouldn't take the 7 and 8 year olds (they would have much more fun at Cub's Den or something), but our older 2 will be 14 and 17. I realize they can't have the wine pairings, but do you think they would be welcome? They have adventurous tastes so I am not worried about the food, more the atmosphere.

Are ties and jackets required?

TIA!

Right you are ChesFig and thanks for the info. Now I wonder if Austrailian Kobe is closer to Japanese Kobe than American Kobe and where does Kobe Bryant fit in? I've read numerous times that American Kobe isn't nearly as good as Japanese Kobe.

Children are welcome--but rare--at V&A. Since 1988 I've only seen two children at V&A. Once a young girl and what looked to be her mother. The other a young girl with what looked to be her parents. Both girls seemed to be around the 10-12 year old range. The girl/mom combo did fine--the girl sat throughout the meal. The parents/girl combo didn't fare as well. The girl kept getting up. walking from one parent to the other. She seemed absolutely bored out of her mind. It was a long 2 and a half hours for her.
Men must wear jackets.Tie optional (but most men wear them). Boys?? Not really sure..both the girls I described had on dresses.

Thanks for another excellent review of V&A, Uncleromulus. DH just said he'd like to dine there on our trip next year :goodvibes so I'm cutting and pasting this review for future reference. :) I look forward to reading your review after your September trip as well.
