Spent 5 magical nights in the world. 3 of the nights we ate at the POR food court. We enjoy the food court and the varied selection.
We enjoyed 2 special dining experiences - Boatwrights and Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Christmas Night - Boatwrights. Since we were staying at POR and checking in 12/25, we decided to eat at Boatwrights for convenience and because we love the restaurant! We had 6:30 PS's. Arrived at Boatwright's at 6:20 and were seated at 6:45. The restaurant was packed with lots of families enjoying! Our server, Mo, was good but very busy. We ordered 2 garlic cheese bite appetizers - they were so yummy! DH had shrimp jambalaya. DS had the t-bone special with baked potato. DD and I had prime rib with mashed potatoes. I was so disappointed to be served instant mashed potatoes! During our summer stay we had homemade mashed potatoes. Other than that disappointment, dinner was good. I would give service a B (he was so busy); food an A- (due to the instant potatoes). Bill was $113 before tip.
12/26 - Yachtsman Steakhouse. Today was DD's 18th birthday and she chose our perennial favorite for her birthday dinner. We arrived at 6:15 for our 6:30 PS. Restaurant was busy, but not packed. We were seated right away. Our server was Sam - he was excellent! DH had clam chowder for an appetizer - he says it is one of the best clam chowder's he's ever had. DS had a caesar salad which was fantastic. DH had prime rib with baked potato. DS had a t-bone with french fries (the good steak french fries). DD had a NY strip with baked potato. I had the filet mignon with baked potato. We had mentioned to the staff that it was DD's birthday and they brought a complimentary chocolate cake. Everything was excellent!! I would give service an A+; food an A+. Bill was $154 before tip. I have eaten in many excellent restaurants and I think the Yachtsman Steakhouse equals many of them! It's expensive, but an excellent experience. They also cut their own meat.
