Dinner Reservation Time on a Party Night

Our last day at Disney will actually fall on a Party night this year. Last time we attended the party on our last night, but we did not plan to do that this year. So I am wondering what is the latest time we can get a reservation in MK while not being a party attendee. We do not want to skirt any rules or anything but would just prefer to maximize our MK time on the last day. Also, what is the process when the meal is over. Do they escort you out or let you go out a side way? We will have already attended the party earlier in the week, so we should have seen most everything we would care to see!

Thanks in advance!

They have not yet announced for this year the timing for this situation.

Last year they had a dedicated reservation page for ADRs during parties, and made it very clear you had to have a party ticket to book the times available on that page.

As of now, FWIW, I just checked a party night, and CRT and CP only are showing times for lunch, but BoG has dinner hours until 6:10.

In the past, guests without party tickets have been escorted out after dinner reservations.

We have our ADR day this coming weekend, so hoping to get some clarification before then for sure!

As of now, only a few MK restaurants have dinner times posted on party nights and those restaurants, as of now, are closing at 6:10 pm or so. If you want to do a practice run, go through the process of making a party night ADR for one of the August or September parties and read through the terms and conditions to see if you can safely make an ADR up until the 6:10 pm closing time.

Why not make a reservation at one of the monorail resorts for after park closing if you really want to do a TS. Personally, if I was trying to maximize my last evening in the park then I would maybe either have a quick service at some point and get in one last line at a few minutes before park closing so you can enjoy one final ride. Once you have enjoyed your final ride you could maybe grab a hot dog at Casey's to eat walking.

I was wondering the same thing. WE are not going to a christmas party this year, but may want to have dinner in the park before we leave. I am beginning to rough our dining plans and since we have a few "must have" dinners requested, I would like to work them in. LOL! I know! No interest in parties, btu plenty of interest in restaurants!

Except if it's past park closing time and you don't have a party wristband, purchasing anything may not be a possibility.

I made a reservation for 5 pm at Skipper's on a party night (I will have a ticket). If it's anything like last year (when we ate at Skipper's at restaurant closing at 6 pm), CM's will go around the dining rooms shortly after general park closing and check for wristbands. If you don't have a wristband, you will be escorted out after dinner. It looks to me, based on terms and conditions I saw when I booked, you can safely book dining up until the 6/6:10 pm restaurant closings now and just be prepared to be escorted out of the park if you don't have a wristband.

My point was don't waste your last night worried about food in the park when it sounds like they are trying to maximize park time. Not being able to grab hot dog on the way out isn't a deal breaker. My point was to spend time on rides and shows prior to park closing then worry about food after park closing. One option, if available, was to grab a hot dog. If they are denied a carry out order then keep moving at eat any of the other QS located outside the parks.

It might make better sense to book a meal in the park at the latest possible timeframe allowed. This allows the family to hit the attractions, get in a restaurnat for dinner when the park has just about closed, and then out to either shop, pack, or watch the fireworks from a resort.

Yeah I think you are misunderstanding what we are saying. Now at 6:00 pm they make you leave the park, unless you are a party-goer for that evening. However, if you get any reservations for a Table Service that starts before 6:00, you can eat with no rush. Ultimately that is what I would consider a maximized day. Once your meal is over, they will escort you out.

My wife contacted Customer Service and confirmed that as long as your reservation is BEFORE 6:00 pm then you are allowed to have that meal. She did not recommend arriving late to your reservation (especially if you arrive after 6pm), because you may be turned away and asked to leave the park. Our plan is to get a 5:30 reservation and take our time, but definitely leave right after the meal. We may visit Poly to watch the Fireworks or something like that.

I suppose our definitiosn of maximizing park time is quite different. Booking a 5:30pm means you will be spending your last bit of time that you could be on a ride sitting in a restaurant or worse yet just standing around outside waiting to get in. I find the food in MK to be rather lack lustre and wouldn't waste my last few minutes on it. Knowing that there are plenty of places outside MK that one could dine once departed I would use my last few minutes in a park enjoying a ride or show knowing that I could dine later when the parks are no longer available to me. You mention going to the Poly Beach for Fireworks, so it seems perfectly reasonable to hit up a final ride just before 6 then once the ride is complete start making your way out of the parks for perhaps an ADR at Ohana or Kona around 7ish where you could enjoy a leisurely dinner while waiting for the fireworks on the beach.

I guess for a point of reference, this will be our third MK day, and last night at Disney World before heading home. That probably changes it a lot, compared to a lot of situations. We will have most likely accomplished all of the rides/entertainment by then..so that last ride won’t be as critical for us. Obviously, part of why we all love Disney is that there is not a right or wrong way...and it varies so much from person to person.

This is great to read. WE were able to score a CRT dinner at 5:55 on a party day. It makes me nervous we would be asked to leave. I booked through the regular ADR and its before 6. We plan to check in at 5:30 to make sure we are not wondering around. Park closes at 6pm. Should I be concerned??

desl,

Sorry I missed this until now. My wife went back and also chatted with the online service/representative and was told the exact same thing. You can get an ADR up until 6:00 and you will be ok. We are eating at 5:45 so we were worried as well. Through two CSRs we have been told that is allowed, but do not expect to linger in the park following your meal. I have seen some people reporting that someone even escorted them out, but not sure how that works...

Thanks. I feel better having talked to 2 CM in addition to this resource but knowing Disney they can change things just before. Ah. When are y’all attending? Please keep us posted on how things go and any advice. Our reservations are at 5:50.

My question is this....we have 3 p.m. reservations at Liberty Tavern and plan on attending the MVMCP that night. However, we did not want to use an extra day ticket for MK.....we will need to use one to get in for our 3 p.m. Liberty Tavern for that reservation or will we have to have a ticket for the day?

If you plan on entering the park before 4PM with a party ticket, you'll need to use regular park admission for a 3PM dinner plus the party ticket for the party. You'll need a 4PM or later if you plan on only using your party ticket that day.

You will not be allowed in at 3pm on a party ticket. Party tickets are only processed at the gates starting at 4pm sharp. Anything before that requires a regular ticket.
