Several years ago, we were at WDW for the 4th of July. We had dinner at the GF Villians Dinner then went out to the grassy area by the water and watched the fireworks over the Seven Seas Lagoon and MK. It was wonderful.
Now, I understand that there is a time limit (three hours?) after your PS within which you are supposed to leave the property. We would like to bring our own car since Disney transportation after the fireworks is a madhouse!
I'd like to reserve dinner at Kona or Ohana's but I've read that people staying at the resort get very aggravated with non-resort guests watching the fireworks from the beach (Is this why WDW has responded with a three hour limit?). Does anyone have the formal company line on this issue?
What do you recommend Kona, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare or, trying to time the fireworks from California Grill? I know the fireworks are great from the parks and we even did Illuminations two years ago on 7/4 - but I like the idea of being a bit removed and more casual than being in the 'thick of things', wall to wall people.
Your help, as always, is gratefully acknowledged.
