Okay.... please forgive me. I am a Disney veteran but we normally stick to our same old routine for dining. Now that our extended family is going, we want to broaden our horizons. I have a couple questions:

1) How is the Cinderella's Castle dinner... is it a character dinner? We did not like the breakfast at all but I think we caught them on an off day. My sister will be celebrating a birthday and we plan on doing a cruise that evening to celebrate and we are looking for a special dinner beforehand. Any comments appreciated!!! Oh... will they do anything special for her birthday... I am willing to spend $$.

2) Any comments on the LTT dinner? What characters are there?

Thanks in advance and I am also open to other suggestions.

1. It's not the best, but it's not bad. I'd compare it to Concourse steakhouse--decent food at a decent price. no characters at dinner though.

2. LTT is OK, I prefer it at lunch. Minnie, Mickey, Chip & Dale, Pluto and maybe Goofy.

How old is your sister and where are you doing the cruise?

If you want something REALLY REALLY special--charter the Grand 1 Yacht from the GF and have dinner served onboard while you watch the fireworks. Big $$$$$, but a once in a lifetime type of event!

I was thinking about the Grand Yacht. She will be 20, has Down Syndrome and she thinks the whole reason we are going to Disney is to celebrate her birthday. We were thinking that we would spend the day at the spa (girl's only - mom, me (26), other DS (23)) and get manicures, pedicures and maybe even an updo for the "big occassion"!!! I know the Grand Yacht is around $350 an hour but do you know how much the private dining is?

Thanks!!

Kim--You've GOT TO DO THIS!!!!!

It was the most fantastic WDW experience I EVER EVER HAD!!!!

We didn't choose to dine onboard for a number of reasons--although we did have wine/beer and cheese and crackers. (I really wanted to dine at Jiko for my birthday)

The menu is from "private dining" although they can be VERY accomodating with special requests. You'll get your choice of just having it brought to the boat or having a butler stay with you for a fairly small (in the grand scheme) extra charge.

Take a look at the menus for Narcooses and Citrico's on Deb's site, and you'll get an idea of what's offered and the prices.

Anything you want to know about the cruise, just ask. it was phenomenal, I can't begin to describe how magical it was!!!

How long did you have it and is there a minimum hours you have to rent?

can you do either Illuminations or MK fireworks?

We booked for one hour, but it was closer to 1 1/2--they took their time getting us back and didn't rush us off.

If we ever do it again, I'd like to do it with onboard dinner...

No, only MK fireworks--you can view from in ront of teh castle, or behind the MK which gives you a better view of the fireworks but you don't have the dramatic effect of the castle in the forefront.
