Next July my family and I will be taking our first Disney cruise! Our party includes my mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nephew (3), 8-month old niece or nephew (don't know what yet, s/he is due in the Fall) husband, our two children (3 and 6) and me. For those of you keeping score -- that's 10.

My question is: will we be seated with another family or is our party big enough that we'll have our own table?

Thanks for the advice,

There are tables large enough to accomodate your party. Have your reservations "linked" and tell your TA that you would all like to dine together. This early they should be able to do that for you.

I would think you could all be seated together, but I wanted to share with you what happened on our cruise last week on the Wonder. We were a party of three (DH, DGD(3) and me) and we hoped to be seated with others. And in fact were were seated at a table for 6. Our 3 tablemates were part of a party of 11 that had to be "split up". Three sat with us and the other had a table for 8 right next to us. The really funny thing is, the 3 that shared our table were our hometown neighbors who live about 1/2 mile away from us and she was one of our DD's high school teacher! It truly is a small world after all. Neither of us realized that the other one was cruising at the same time, let alone dining at the same time and the same table!! It was great!!! :)

A party of 10 will generally be seated together...you won't be mixed with any other families. The key, as stated above, is to have all your staterooms "linked." This means that you are travelling as a group and want to be seated together at dinner. Just have your TA call DCL and give them the lead name in each cabin...DCL will take care of the rest.

For breakfasts and lunches, you are basically on your own to eat wherever and whenever you want. If all 10 of you want to sit together at lunch, just tell the head server, and they will put tables together for you. More commonly, you will eat on different schedules except at dinner....whatever you want, they will do.

If, as above, they "split up" a party of 11, the ressies must not have been linked. We had a party of 18 all at one large table on one cruise.....normally 12 is the largest they do, but they will put large parties all in one server's area.
