I am holding two dining reservations....
Napa Rose and Carthay Circle

I have been to Carthay Circle several times for the WOC Dining package. We have enjoyed our experience - yes the food is medicore+ and overpriced - but the atmosphere is great and we love having a cocktail before dinner. This year we are not doing the WOC package (booked the Saturday WOC dessert package instead).
Was hoping to dine on the patio around 8:30 to watch the fireworks at 9:30.
Is this worth it? Has anyone done this recently?
Do they play the soundtrack? Will we be too cold? The view seems a bit obstructed?

WE have never been to Napa Rose. Is it worth a try? How are the cocktails?

I should mention one other detail... We will be dining with a moody pre-teen who does not especially enjoy nice restaurants. He got to pick dinner on Saturday (Naples).

Thanks for your advice and recommendations!

Given the details, I think I would go with Napa Rose. The cocktails are amazing, especially their Mai Tais. We like a table by the window.

I've been to Napa Rose and Carthay C numerous times. I like Napa Rose better for both food and service. They have a great wine list and the cocktails are good too. As for the moody teen, I've had one of those and know what a buzz kill they can be. How about this? If you are staying at the GCH, and your teen is old enough to be in the room on their own, let them eat whatever they want for dinner off the room service menu while surfing the web or snapchatting with their friends while you adults go down to the Napa Rose for a nice dinner.

Thanks so much for your help!
I cancelled the Carthay Circle reservation and we are excited to try Napa Rose for the first time.
We arrive on Friday afternoon to celebrate my son's 12th birthday (on Saturday). I'm totally up for the suggestion of allowing him to stay in the room - We have done that at other hotels in the past, but since it is our first night, I suspect we will want have dinner together.

Thanks again!
