What type of food is served and is it good? We will be hitting MK for one day on our way to Southwest Florida. It is our anniversary trip and want to have a nice meal in the MK. Or we could leave the park and go to California Grill. But would we be dressed nice enough just coming from a park for California Grill? Maybe not.
Any and all opinions welcome. Thanks!

If you've never done Cinderella's Castle, that would be the perfect time!!
Also, if you were considering CA Grill, I'm sure that you'd want to freshen up before you go. We do the 'resort casual' thing, but we change just in case we're a bit 'ripe' from the day's activities.

JMHO though...........

We have never done the castle - tried to last time, but could not get in. I think that is what we'll do. How's the food?

We've only done breakfast, but I've seen many positive reviews of both lunch and dinner.

Enjoy- and if it's just the two of you, you might end up with a table by one of the stained glass windows!!

We had dinner there last week. Don't know if this is important to you or not, but they don't serve alcohol. DH wanted a glass of wine with his Prime Rib and was really disappointed. DH had prime rib, and I had seafood risotto and both were very, very good. The atmosphere is really neat there. I've never been to CA grille, but from what I've heard I would probably choose that for an anniversary dinner.

I agree-for an anniversary dinner CG would be my choice. And don't worry about being in "park" attire. It's how we always dress at the CG. No one will even pay you a second glance. Just no tank tops or bathing suits--.
And I also agree with MichiganMommy about the alcohol--Cindy's would be a better place to eat if you could have a glass of wine (or a good beer) with dinner. Probably the main reason why we never eat dinner there..

Should add that both are popular and often crowded, so be sure to make PS just as soon as you decide which it will be!!

I agree that CG is, by far, the better meal. CG is an excellent restaurant; Cindy's is an excellent theme park restaurant. The wine list at CG is amazing- at Cindy's you can get a nice smoothie.

With that said, if you really don't want to leave the park, Cindy's is a good choice. I was surprised at the quality of the food, and the menu is not something you'd normally expect to find in a park like this. The setting can't be beat, either; it really does feel like eating in Cinderella's Castle (ask the server and s/he will tell you the Wicked Stepsisters are doing the dishes.)

You won't have a bad time at Cindy's, but you'll have a really great meal at CG.

DH and I did lunch at Cinderella's castle on our honeymoon. My lunch was good, but DH wasn't thrilled(he had the chicken caesar salad). We also did CG one night for dinner, and it was my favorite meal of the trip. You can't beat the atmosphere, and the food was outstanding.

If it were me, I would definitely go to the California Grill vs. Cinderella's. Don't worry about your clothes - assuming you don't go to the parks in a ripped t-shirt and cutoff jean shorts, you'll be fine. :) On the other hand, if you want to dress up a bit, you could put a batch of semi-nice clothes (nothing wrinkle-prone obviously) in a MK locker, along with your makeup kit and such, then take a quick trip to the restroom before you jump on the monorail. (Or am I the only person anal-retentive enough to do something like that? :teeth: )
