I am so stumped already today. I need an idea for dinner tonight. I get so tired of the same 'ol things!! What is everyone else having?

I am fixing one of the new Crockpot Classics from Banquet...beef stew. Hope it's as good as it looks.

There was another thread regarding this a little while ago, and someone suggested www.allrecipes.com I actually tried a couple I found on there, Basil Chicken with Pasta, and Husband's Delight, they were both very good.

So am I! On sale with a coupon, so it wasn't that much money!

Mercy - how funny, I found the Husbands Delight recipe probably a couple of years ago on AllRecipes. It is my oldest dd's favorite dish, so we renamed it to reflect her name. When I saw the name "Husbands Delight" in your post, I thought it sounded familar so I took a look at the recipe, and sure enough, it was the same one.

I face the problem of what to cook every night. If someone would just tell me, I wouldn't mind cooking so much. So many of the recipes you find are so far out there, that there is no way my family would eat them. We are a basic meat and potatoe or casserole or soup type of family.

Wish I could just hire myself a cook!

mmmm that husbands delight sounds yummy.

Not sure yet! It's a long night... dance from 4-5, then girl scouts at 5:45 - ? It'll have to be something quick!

CindyB I used the $1.00 coupon @ Walmart so I think it only made the Crockpot meal something like $3.96. Thought that was a real good price. Looks and smells good already and dinner isn't for several more hours.

I think I'll make reservations for dinner....lol....:teeth:

I've been doing the new Core plan on Weight Watchers so I will be making grilled chicken, baked potatos and a vegetable.

I won't make it to dinner tonight...curriculum night from 6:30 to 8 so I'll just make it there from work.

DD and my mom are going to have tomato soup, grilled cheese (harvati) and ham sandwiches, and cucumber slices. It's a rainy day and that's always so tasty on a rainy day!

Fish sticks, homemade mac and cheese and a veggie.

I'm thinking oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Not very creative, but my kids will eat it :)

I understand the frustration. UGH...I have to make things that are PLAIN, NO SAUCE, NO SPICES, NO GRAVIES...

Is there a "recipes for heartburn sufferers" site or book???

Hmmm I think I will go poking around.

I had grilled ostrich last night. Having it for lunch again today marinated in mango juice (experiment). Tonight will be Roast Chicken....if the ostrich comes out pretty good in the mango juice I'll try it on the chicken. FWIW ostrich has more in common with beef than chicken.

Wow! I don't think I could even try it.

We are having homemade chicken pot pie that I made. I'm so exicted because this is the first time I ever made it. I made it Sunday and froze it. I hope it's good...

Here's a quick idea: Buy some breaded chicken breast patties and either bake or microwave. Get a bag of salad mix and you can make your own "Fried Chicken Salad" just like the restaurants do. Just slice the patties into strips and put on top of the salad mix. Add tomato, onion, bacon bits, shredded cheese, boiled egg, whatever you prefer! You can slice some french bread and add a little fruit and you got an entire meal in just a few minutes.

Having spicy cajun shrimp with rice from tvfood.com Calls for 5 lbs of shrimp in the recipe I will be cutting it down. For dessert, Rolaids.
