Dinner Ideas for DS 12th Birthday @ DL.

We are taking a quick weekend trip to DL at the end of the month. My DS's birthday is the first full day were are there. Does anyone know of a "great" place for a Birthday Dinner... for a 12 year old boy?

We just did Goofy's Kitchen on Jan 23 for our 10 year old's bday. We ordered the treasure chest birthday cake (about $15 extra on top of the huge bill and it was really dried out) but my son thought it was great. The food was OK, nothing fabulous, but we were starved at that point so it all tasted good. It was also very busy on Sat. night and we waited 1/2 hour for our reservation. It was fun for our kids, but just average for us.
I do know you could just request a birthday cupcake when you arrive and they are free. They still make a "big deal" of it by singing too.
You can also get a bday button at the gift shop (Fantasia?) in the Disneyland Hotel before eating. Then he'll get ALL the attention. My 10 year old got so much, he finally just took it off! (he's the shy type)

When I brought my son there for his surprise visit we went to Blue Bayou for a later lunch and then did the Fantasmic desert party that evening. We had a blast there. It was our first visit and didnt' know when we would be back again so I wanted to make it completely magical for both of us.

I think a 12 year old is to old for a character breakfast - at least my 12 year old son would never have done it. He loves Rainforest Cafe' and asks to go there on his birthday vs. inside Disneyland. There is also the Cheesecake Factory at Garden Walk. If you want inside Disneyland I second Blue Bayou.
