I know on formal nights shorts would be a definate no,no for my
DS 9 and DS 11 but on the casual nights are they accepted on the dining rooms?

They are old enough that they really should be in slacks. Take one pair for each kid and just put them into them for dinner. Get a dark color to hide stains, and take some Shout wipes.

On your daily Navigator, you will see "no shorts please" requested in the dining rooms -- this is not according to age, but a general request for everyone. The only exception is the Island night in the 7 day. Very convenient for this age group of boys are the cargo zip off type pants. My son has some in a very 'neat' looking khaki and navy -- and also bold orange. Pair these up on the casual nights with a nice button down 'island type' shirt that the boys love to wear -- and you are all set! After dinner, just zip off -- and they have their shorts again.

That's an AWSOME idea! I never would have thought of that. I would have packed church pants for our DS if you would not have posted that tip. Thanks!

Great idea! Being from the pacific northwest, my boys will bake in long pants at those tempretures. The zip pants are a great idea and they have them at costco right now for 12.00 a pair!

The attire in Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay is resort casual -- open-collar shirts and slacks for men and pants and a blouse or a casual dress for ladies. In Lumière's, Triton's, and Palo, we suggest men wear jackets and ladies wear dresses or pantsuits. We kindly request that no shorts, T-shirts or jeans be worn in any of our restaurants in the evening. We also request that swimsuits not be worn in any dining location. However, if you prefer to dine in shorts or comfy jeans, along with your favorite T-shirt, you'll want to try Pluto's Doghouse or Pinocchio's Pizzeria. If you are sailing on the Disney Magic®, you can take advantage of the relaxed dress code at Topsider Buffet. Of course, there's always room service. Or on special occasions, dress up in your colorful island attire, including flowered shirts and muu muus at the themed TROPICALIfragilistic-expialidocious Dinner. During the 7-Night Caribbean Cruise, appropriate attire is also suggested for our elegant and semi-formal evenings when dining with the Master Chef Series and the Captain's Gala Dinner. Tuxedo rentals are available in advance.

Each parent or guardian would be the best judge of what attire is appropriate for our youngest cruisers. Guests who are age 13 or older would probably be most comfortable wearing attire similar to what is recommended above for all the ship's passengers.
