I am going to WDW in May and one of my brothers is a very picky eater. There are really only a handful of foods that he eats. My question is, if you go to dinner or lunch buffets at the Crystal Palace or Hollywood and Vine, can an adult (he's 21) eat off the children's buffet? I assume he would be able to since I would be paying the adult price, but I just wanted to make sure before I booked a reservation there. I didnt want to show out there and then find out he couldnt eat anything and was stuck watching us eat and hungry. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

PS - If we decide on the DDP, would there also be a problem with an adult ordering off the kid's menu at a table service meal if using an adult dining credit? It would probably save disney money, so I dont see why not, but I dont know how much of sticklers they are for the DDP rules etc. There are restaurants and foods I would want to try but I know he wouldnt eat anything at them. Thanks.

Yes he could...he might feel a little silly though as the kids buffet section is usually about 2 1/2 ft tall. I take chicken fingers and pizza from it all the time. Not a big deal. And if you feel more comfortable, mention it to your server, I am sure they will be the first to tell you that its ok.

At both Hollywood & Vine and Crystal Palace there are "plainer" selections in the big people section...typically roasted or baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes, carved beef or pork etc. I am sure he will find plenty to eat...who knows he might try a few new things too!! Have fun!

As for the DDP I am really not sure but it never hurts to ask!

Thanks for the quick response. It is much appreciated. He may eat some of the plainer buffet items you listed, but I just wanted to make sure it was possible to eat from the children's buffet before I booked to be safe. Thanks again.

Just wanted to mention that in my opinion the food at Crystal Palace is better than Hollywood & Vine. We've eaten at CP 3 times and H&V twice, and we much prefer CP.

the kids buffet is usually just a section on the regular buffet. If it is separate, don't worry about it. Lots of adults will be over there taking some things. My husband and grown son do it all the time. Not that they don't like the adult food but ecause they want to eat everything (and I mean everything) on the buffet.

As another point - kids can eat anything on from the adult choices as well. At Disney, a buffet is a buffet is a buffet, kid or adult.
