We have never been to Boma. With that being said, I would still pick it or any other restaurant (with the exception of Hollywood & Vine) over Whispering Canyon Cafe. Absolutely horrible food and service (give me McDonald's any day).
Wow, I'm so relieved to find there are others who didn't care for Boma! I thought I was a weirdo lol. I'm an adventurous eater, but I just found the flavors too sweet/fruity/something and I don't think I would go back.
While I don't hate WCC, it's a bit too rowdy for me. I liked it as a kid, but now I like to relax when I eat dinner. WCC is very noisy, and there are kids running around (literally! they encourage it) everywhere in what is essentially a pretty small restaurant.
Neither.... I'm in the don't like the Boma flavors either. I was disappointed in the desserts too. Just not my cup of tea and love trying new foods too. It is weird because I really like Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot. Anyways... I thought WCC was okay. Not at the top of my list but I like it better than Boma.
We did both on our last trip, and I would say Whispering Canyon. I know their are alot of Boma lovers we just weren't them. I am happy we tried it once but won't be back. We will go back to Whispering Canyon. The kids and the adults loved the vanilla milkshakes and it was a fun experience.
Never been to Boma so can't speak to that buffet, but we had our first visit to WCC this past Sept. and had a marvelous time! Was it loud? YES! Was it rowdy? Yes! But we knew what to expect and had a great time with it. I think the boys were the right age for it too. We would definitely go there again. The food was delicious and abundant.
Hmmm....well Boma is a great buffet, it's actually one of my favorite restaurants in WDW...but then again so is Whispering Canyon. So it depends....buffet with African flavors? Or Western classics with a rowdy atmosphere?
