We're going to MVMCP on 12/2. Right now we have 6:55 PM ressies at Crystal Palace b/c it was all I could get (nothing at all is available now). The ressies are kind of late, and I'm beginning to wonder if we really even need a sit down dinner before the party? :confused3 We'll be at Hollywood Studios for the morning (character breakfast at H&V) and early afternoon, and will go back to the hotel to rest before the party. I'm thinking of just grabbing a snack at the hotel or seeing if any counter service is open in MK that we can go to around 6:00 or 6:30? Anyone have any input??

I made ressies to eat at Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch the day we go to MVMCP. The kids like Casey's so that's where we will eat dinner.

We are going to the party on 12/18/08 and have a ADR for LTT at 4 pm. I have been second guessing this since I made the ADR. This will be our first MCMCP so I do not know what to expect. We are not going to the park until the party so I thought about doing an earlier ADR as a late lunch/early dinner somewhere outside the park like The Wave or Raglan Road around 2:30 or so. I am not sure what to do either. I am interested in hearing from others who have done MVMCP in the past.

We have done LTT in the past and DH loves it, DS likes it, and for me it was just okay.

Last year we did MVMCP and had a 4 PM dinner at Tony's Town Square first. Atmosphere is from Lady & The Tramp movie with lithographs from the movie and a mid-dining room fountain of Lady and Tramp. Food we had was good. Its location at the front of the park was ideal. Many people though mention they do not care for Tony's.

You can enter the Magic Kingdom on the "hard" ticket events at 4pm. It works that way for the Halloween parties, the Christmas parties, the Pirate and Princess Parties.

I think MinnieNurse's way is the better way to go, because you do want to be in the park before the crowds invade the turnstiles around the "official" start of the party, and the earlier dinner you have, the better.

If you want to see the "Twas the Night Before Christmas Show", which I hear is HIGHLY recommended, it's always best to try to get to the first show. If you don't, you'll probably find a conflict between the parade (which runs twice) and fireworks (only once) times, and you don't want to miss those, either.

So I would say to the first poster, cancel those reservations, because you don't want to miss out on the party events. I'm afraid that the earliest reservations are probably sold out because people are trying to eat as early as possible before the party time.

Last year, when I did the Halloween party, I entered the Magic Kingdom with my party ticket just after 4pm. I grabbed a counter service meal at Pecos Bill's and had plenty of time to enjoy the party from the very beginning, and I didn't have to wait to enter with all the crowds that arrive after 6pm.

If I go to any of the hard ticket party events again, I will definitely repeat my after-4pm entry. It was really convenient.

We always do a sit down before a party, around 5pm so we dont lose any party time. If I could not get into CP I would go to Kona, GFC or try the Wave.

Can someone tell me the 'schedule' for MVMCP. This is the first time we are attending and I don't want to schedule dinner for a time that will make us miss out on a big event.

Thanks!!

I personally would try to change if you can. We usually have a late lunch before a party (MNSSHP or MVMCP). That way you can enjoy the whole party. Don't know if you have kids or how old they are. If they are younger and wouldn't be able to stay 'til midnight, I would definitley change as they wouldn't be able to enjoy much of the party.

You could try a resort near MK for a late lunch if you can't get anything in MK. We are having a late lunch at Kona. In the past, we have had early dinner/very late lunch at the Plaza, and late lunch at LTT.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Do you think 4pm is too late or would you suggest an earlier late lunch like 2 or 3pm?

I have two options:

1. 5:05 @ Chef Mickey's

or

2. 7:30 @ Tony's

Which do you guys suggest??

Minnie Nurse - I think 4:00 would be fine. The real part of the party doesn't start until 7:00. You can just get in the park at 4:00 to do other things.

jmcdc - I would do the 5:05.

I'm also going to MVMCP on December 2nd and we're doing a very late lunch at Crystal Palace - I think our reservations are at 2:40.

I would go with Chef Mickey's as you'll probably get to Mk by 6:30p at the very latest. With Tony's you won't finish till at least 8:30p, maybe later, missing quite a bit of party time.

I would try and get something no later than 5:30p or just do counter service. With that ADR time you won't be done till at least 8:00p missing an hour of the party.
