Dinner before Fantasmic

We added a night to our November vacation and now I am trying to figure out how to have dinner outside of DHS and get to Fantasmic for 7. Since I am planning so late, there are no dinner times available in DHS, so I booked us a 4:30 dinner at Boathouse. In a perfect world, a dinner at Sci-Fi will pop up later, but I don't want to count on that So, do you think I can make it to Fantasmic on time from Boathouse? I am thinking we'll walk to Saratoga Springs and take the bus to DHS. I might end up just settling on a QS spot instead, but I am personally not a fan of the QS options in DHS.

Why don't you book a late lunch ADR for somewhere and then grab quick service for dinner either before or after Fantasmic.

Your seating should be immediate at the boathouse- I would guess your meal for 7 will take about 1.5 hours That would put you finishing about 6pm and then walking the 15 minutes at a very fast pace in order to catch a bus to DHS which you may need to wait up to 20 minutes for at that time of day. Then you will have the 15 min bus ride to DHS - which means if you can all walk very fast (I mean about a 12 min or less mile) and everything lines up perfectly you are arriving at DHS at 6:30 if the bus is waiting on you at the stop when you arrive and if you just miss it you are looking at arriving at DHS at 6:50 either of which could be a problem for making it to a 7pm Fantasmic and that assumes it is not on a night where the park closes half an hour before Fantasmic in which case the gates may be closed when you return and buses would not be running to the park at that time.

Sorry I meant at 7, not for 7 people. ;) There are only two of us! That day we are going to see my husband's grandmother and switching resorts so I am putting a lot in a day. My thought is to get to my husband's grandmother's house around 10, have lunch, stick around until early afternoon, drop the car off at Budget and have them drop us off wherever we need to go for dinner. It does make me nervous though having a dinner reservation not in DHS when there is Fantasmic. That night is extra magic hours though so we shouldn't have an issue getting in. I just would rather not rush...

We are going to DTD via Saratoga Springs and eating at Wolfgang Puck Express on our Fantasmic night. No reservation required!

That is a fantastic er.. fantasmic idea! ;) I always hear Wolfgang Punk Express is one of the best QS options!

I'd say go for the nice lunch somewhere, and just get over to DHS in plenty of time. You could just go into Anaheim Market place right up the street from the entrance for Fantasmic! and get some nibble things to bring (like some big Mickey pretzels).

We also love Wolfgang Puck Express, though, so you won't go wrong with that place!

I think dinner somewhere in the Boardwalk area would be much easier than DTD. Between the Boardwalk restaurants, YC/BC, and Swan/Dolphin, there's a wide variety of TS and CS meals. And, when you're done, you can either take a boat to HS or walk there in 20 minutes.
