Dinner before Dessert party?

We have the Star Wars dessert party booked for the 1st time. It starts at 7:45. Was planning on grabbing a quick bite to eat at the pool early that evening (QS), or order pizza. I know we don't want a huge meal as there are apps and lots of desserts. However, my family is used to eating around 5-6 pm so not sure we want to eat a ton at the party except for desserts. What has everyone else done for dinner prior to a dessert party? Thanks!

Late lunch only. 1 pm. Waste if an ayce dessert party otherwise.
Ok, thanks. I know my kids can't wait until 7:45 to eat though. So we will have to feed them somewhere/ somehow. I have no lunch plans that day either-- was planning on grabbing food at the pool that day.

The Star Wars dessert party had savory items as well as desserts when I went last fall.
I had a late lunch that day around 2, and it worked out well. Try not to eat anything too heavy for lunch like pastas, potatoes.

We did the dessert party last week but the timing was 6:45 instead of 7:45. I had been planning to try to grab a quick sandwich before but realized that since we were planning a later start day that was probably jamming in too many meals and we would take full advantage of the dessert party and if people were hungry they would get something later. Now I will say that my kids are 18 and 21 so not younger kids who might not do as well with irregular meal times, but we had counter service at the pool in the afternoon around 2 and were in the party around 6:15 (we checked in at 6, they told us party started at 6:15, we went into the 10 minute movie and when we entered the party shortly after 6:15 there were already a lot of people there). As people noted there were savories (cheese cubes, pita, hummus and bean dip) as well as the desserts. As it turned out, neither my DD21 nor I ate anything the rest of the evening (unusual for me since I am always hungry!), DS18 got a salad at the counter service in our resort and DD ate some leftovers from a prior dinner. It was a great party and we were glad we hadn't tried to squeeze in a dinner, since we were able to enjoy it more (and the bread pudding in particular was super heavy, but great). The cocktails were very good as well but also sweet and filling. Enjoy!

I would probably do a quick service salad to try to balance what my inevitablely out of control choices would be at the dessert party!:rolleyes1

We have eaten dinner normally around 5.
Thanks! We will be at the pool, and probably heading back up to room around 5 pm to shower etc. Probably leave hotel around 6:30. So i guess we can grab QS at the pool around 4:30 or so, or order room service snacks..

I don't know about you, but if I don't feed myself and the DD's we get "hangry". Even if you split a CS meal, it isn't worth the literal headache I get when I don't eat when I'm supposed to. I'm glad they have some savory items, I don't eat a lot of sugar.
