We are going on a cruise this June instead of Disney  (family's choice not mine). And worst of all it is on RCCL not Disney!! (Actually, I am looking forward to it.)

Anyway, we are arriving a day early. Plus, we have to pick up my mom at the Orlando airport (we are driving). So, I began to have this bright idea of staying in the Disney area the night before so I can get a little Disney "fix". We wouldn't go to any of the parks, but we could walk around DTD, maybe go to one of the resorts, etc. Then, drive over to the Port on the morning of our cruise. So ... where would you have dinner the night before the cruise to get that Disney feel? It would have to be outside the parks. I think we would stay at the Sheraton Safari by DTD since I have enough Starwood points to stay there for free.

Also, am I just making myself trouble? Will this just make me sad for not going to the parks or will it be enough of a fix to hold me over until next year.

We're doing the same thing before our cruise in May. I plan on having dinner the night before at Whispering Canyon and breakfast the morning before heading to port at Cape May Cafe. I'd just go to whatever WDW restaurant is your favorite. Maybe Chef Mickey's if you need a Mickey fix.

I agree,Chief Mickeys would give you the Disney feeling. Ohanas might be a nice choice,or Park Faire at the Floridian.Be sure to ride the monorail to get a good lok at the castle! :earboy2:
