Dinner Attire for First Night

I was wondering....on embarkation day due you have your luggage in time to dress for dinner if you have first seating dinning. For example, when we went on RCCL last year everyone had not recieved their luggage yet. We ask the Maitre'D (Host Stand) and they advised us that on the first night you can wear anything. There were tons of people in jeans and shorts. My question is how does this work on DCL? Do I need to pack evening close on my carry on suitcase.

Most people like to be safe rather than being sorry and not having the proper attire. Our bags were in our rooms right around the time we were able to go to them. I personally don't want to carry any more than I have to in my carry on bag. If my bags don't make it than I will go to dinner in what I wear on the ship. The dress code is resort casual for the first night.

You should have your stuff before dinner. If not I would just go wearing what I had on.. No one is going to say anything about how your dressed....

Luggage on the magic and wonder were delivered hours before dinner time. We always try to wear our most wrinkle free outfit the first night..send everything else to be pressed so we are ready for the rest of the cruise.

The wonder dinners not near as dressy as the magic dinners. Enjoy!

Well each cruise we have been missing one bag at 6 pm...MINE! On the first one, it arrived with 5 minutes to spare & I threw on a dress since the kids were ready. Last cruise it didn't come until after the show. I did get a pair of jeans & a collared long sleeved black top. Although I was upset about having to wear that & not the outfit that I had coordinated with the kid's clothes, the pictures we took that night were from the waist up so you really can't tell. Next cruise I am rolling up my dress & other stuff and packing it in my carry on. Eliminate stress!
