Lot of good in that statement. I can always find excellent Italian food near me so rarely eat it at WDW - excepting pizza at VN when traveling with kiddos.
I like the Boathouse. Usually sit at the bar and get treated really well. Never really order any of their expensive/signature things. Just drinks and snacks. Just really enjoy being there.
I just had my first disappointing meal at the Boathouse in the 10ish times I was there. Stopped in for lunch after getting into Disney today. Sat at the bar. The two servers/bartenders were outstanding and very personable/friendly but the food was very subpar. Just had one of their house beers and the burger and Caesar salad. Burger was dry (no sauces on it) and the salad was a ridiculous portion for them having a 2$ up charge to sub it in. Add it was half croutons and watery. I am really sad that I had a bad experience. Usually this place is too shelf. Should have just went to d-Luxe.
The Boathouse is fine. Not perfect. Not bad. The inside tends to be crowded and loud depending on where you are seated. The outdoor dock bar is nice assuming you can get a seat out there. It's a well known area with excellent atmosphere (over the water!) for a drink. We've had some good and some not-so-good experiences here - both with service and food. We don't make it a point to get there, but we don't avoid it either. DW actually prefers to have drinks and apps on the top deck of Paddlefish before we dine or move on elsewhere.
We've eaten there twice. The first time was really good. The second time, not so much. Heading to WDW next year and we've been talking about where and what to eat. Considering given it another try but still not sure yet.
We usually eat lunch there on our departure day. There is something for everyone and the quality and service hae been very good. I usually make a meal of two appetizers (coconut shrimp and prime rib sliders).
Really enjoy the Boathouse. I usually make a meal out of the crabcake appetizer and some truffle fries. It is noisy inside, so try to get a table outside (weather permitting.)
It's fine. We find, however, that's it's very similar to restaurants we go to at home fairly often.
On vacation, we're usually looking for something a little different, either food or theme wise.
I will say that I was served the smallest piece of swordfish I've ever seen in a restaurant at Boathouse. It's one of the few Disney table service meals I've ever had where I was looking for something to eat right after we left.
If I go there again it will be for sure sitting at the bar on the dock having sliders or something like that.
Our tradition is to go to the boathouse on the first night of our trip! My husband loves seafood, especially oysters, and it never disappoints. Grab a table at the bar near the water for the ultimate vibe!

Reading these with great interest. I usually do Raglan Road at Disney Springs and love it, but kinda want to try something new next year.
Can you usually walk in on a Sunday afternoon? Or find something on Open Table day of? It would be the day I fly in and I don't know how I will be feeling, if I want a sit down or just grab something, or even WHEN I would get to Disney Springs.

Thank you! I am not usually one to go without reservations, but don't want to worry about making it in time or going even if I am not feeling up to it. Flying for me is very stressful. So I may just want to talk and grab quick service instead. But I have always wanted to try Boathouse.
Loved the Boathouse - decent to good food. First trip to Disney Springs so finding the restaurant from the Lyft drop off at Marketplace was stressful. We didn't realize the walking distance, location, and the time - the area was packed with people. Ended up being about 10 minutes late for our reservation, but they were very accommodating and extremely helpful. Maybe there is a better drop off location, but our Lyft driver was another issue for another day. A fun experience, would definitely recommend.
Had dinner at the Boathouse last week. Sat outside at night with the heaters on and ordered the ribeyes with a nice bottle of wine.
Pricey, but the food was good. It wasn't the best $60 steak I've had, but it was up there.
It was a little crowded as the tables were close together but we made it work.
We enjoyed our dinner there the week before Christmas and were seated inside one of the back rooms against the wall at a table for two (under metal fish wall hangings who were wearing Santa hats) and I didn’t feel crowded at all. We had a lovely waitress and enjoyed our food. Can’t go wrong with the filet sliders cooked to order and some fries. Kid had clam strips and some kind of a lobster roll. Only issue with it was she would have preferred a better bun but she enjoyed it. We also ate at flying fish and it was nice but we felt more crowded and there was a large party seated near us. I also got a feeling of being at rainforest cafe while there as that table came over and stood over our table (and us) looking at the bottles of wine displayed beside our little two top table. I felt very uncomfortable but it didn’t last long. I think we will try paddlefish in March
