I was just wondering if anyone has held their wedding day dinner at Ohanas??

We tried lots of restaurants when we visited in Oct & Ohanas turned out to be our fav one :thumbsup2 . My df really loved the food & the setting :lovestruc , hes a picky eater so when he says he likes something foodwise im over the moon.

We originally planned to have our dinner at C.Mickeys but after eating there we realised it was nt the way to go :sad2: . So now Ohanas looks like the one we re gonna opt for :thumbsup2

Theres only a couple of us so its not like we need a grand dinner (its just not us) , we re staying at the Poly so location wise its perfect & we are hoping to have a Wishes Cruise afterwards which i think you can pick up at Poly. That way we d go from dinner at Ohanas straight on to the cruise :woohoo:

Just was curious to see if anyone else had used Ohanas on there big day??

Did not use 'Ohana for our big day but we LOVE this place. Our wedding was a Monday (we had 50 people attend the wedding) and the Saturday before 16 of us went to dinner there. It was not a Welcome Dinner or anything like that. When we first started booking reservations I had made reservation for 10 people and then another one for 8. I just told everyone that we had room enough for 18 and whoever wanted to join us to let us know before.

They put us at two large round tables next to each other. Even though we had reservations we had to wait about 30 minutes due to our large party and they were putting us next to each other. Everyone loved this meal and they are still talking about it - especially the dessert. I completely recommend this place.

We had our rehearsal dinner there and it turned out great! We had about 40 people and everything went really smoothly. The only issue we had is that we never discussed drinks w/ Ohana's, and so one of the waiters was telling everyone that there was an open bar :scared1: Luckily, not very many people in our group drank so it wasn't that big of a deal, but DH did have to go over to him and tell him to quit telling our guests that!! In general though, we had a great time and would do it again! :thumbsup2

I wish I did! It is so good there. Go with your gut and have it there :)

I did! We were a table of 25 so we had to have either the first seating (5:15) or the last (9:45). Our wedding was at 5:00pm so it was the last seating for us!
We had the cake and champagne reception after the wedding and served a fruit and veggie tray along with the cake. Then we headed back to our room around 7:30 and everyone made their way over to the Poly. I changed into a simpler sundress as I needed to wear my dress again for an 'at-home' reception and didn't think I could make it through dinner at Ohanas keeping it clean.

When we got to Ohana's all our party was already there and having drinks at the bar. It was busy and I think we didn't get seated until after 10pm. We were the last people in there but it was tons of fun and food. They brought out special cupcakes for DH and I with dessert. It was a very fun night! My parents thought the price was exceptional for an all-you-can-eat wedding reception :rotfl:

Yay!!! Im glad to hear that other people have done the same/similar thing:thumbsup2

Im gonna wear my dress at Ohanas, i love it to much to take it off  I think at the end of the night i ll be devastated when i have to take it off as i ll never get to wear it again:guilty:

Think i ll just have to cover my lap with 98 million napkins just in case i have a few mucky pup moments . Foods so yummy there plus the portions are great so i know we wont leave hungry.

Wont be ordering the drink in the pineapple this time though, it was literally pure rum I could nt taste anything else. Im a big malibu drinker & i really like the taste of rum but i had to give up after a few big sips otherwise it would of gotten me sloshed:laughing:. ( a sight thats none too pleasant i assure you;) ) That drink was one mountain i could nt conquer!!!

Where's Lisa when you need her? She had their rehearsal dinner there (Goldeloxx9).

I am here I am here!

We had our rehersal dinner there and it was wonderful! SOOO great! They make you schedule the dinner for the first dinner seating. I fought this and got a reservation for 8:30pm (the reason was flights that got in that day, but we should have taken the earliest seating) and we had to wait for the table for over an hour. We didn't include drinks and we told everyone this beforehand. Our bill for 22 people (3 kids) was about $750 including tip. They took great care of us. We were allowed to bring a cake in (Thanks Mikkel) but we had to take it in ourselves and they wouldn't put it in the kitchen. They did let us put it on a seperate table and then brought us a huge knife to slice it. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was outstanding!

I think it sounds like a pretty fun place to have a wedding day dinner. :thumbsup2

We did years ago and it was fun. They even did a little 'Just Married' dance, where DH and I and another couple got up to dance. It was fun, the food was great, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg :)

Thumbs up!! :thumbsup2
