I have 2 children ages 5 and 7, very picky eaters, which place is better for dinner? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Our grandkids ages 8, 6 and 3, love the Cape May Cafe. They have a special buffet area just for kids although there are many items on the "adult" tables that they would enjoy also.

I think the kids ate more at the Cape May than any other restaurant during our stay. The desserts were great also--cupcakes and cookies for the kids and lots of great desserts for the adults.

We have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed or had a meltdown.

It is then fun to walk out onto the boards and enjoy some of the entertainment that they offer which the kids will love.

Have fun.

Do you have to have a ADR for the Cape May Cafe? This will be our first trip with our girls (9, 6, 5) and I want to take them to some nice places to eat but I don't what have every meal planned before I get there. We're always on tight schedules at home so I would like to keep all the plans loose on our vacation.

Yes you do have to have an ADR. You will have to with most all sit down restaurants at disney

Of the 3, I'd do Ohana's. Food is great, and they do little games for the kids. I've never been to Cape May, but we didn't like the garden grill at all.

I would do 'Ohana, they have a lot of fun activities for the kids and the food is fantastic. If they are too picky for the regular menu, they can order anything offered on the kids menu from Kona Cafe.

Ohana's is our favorite (but I think more so because of the atmosphere, as we always dine during Wishes) but I would think picky eaters would be much happier at Cape May which has a much larger selection. Ohana's is a place I feel that you either love the food or dislike it, no real middle ground. Whereas Cape May has many traditional food items aka safe stuff like chicken, mac and cheese, etc and many other exciting items. I vote Cape May.

Another vote for Ohana. Its our fave place in all the World. The sweetpea loves joining the games and activites. And we have always enjoyed the food there. They have the best dessert on property IMO. And the view is great!!

I'd say the Garden Grill.

They serve traditional kid foods for the kids, adult food for the adults and you don't have to keep getting up since it is served family style (they bring the food to you).

It's also in the park so it can cut down on travel time if you eat here on your Epcot day (instead of leaving the park for one of the other two restaurants).

It's also a character meal so you don't have to spend park time waiting in line to see Mickey - you know you'll be able to get pictures and autographs while you eat.

I think picky eaters might do better at cape may because there are so many choices. I do recommend, however, not getting the first seating (5:30) We did this last time and it was sooooo crowded. If we had gone closer to 6 or 6:30, it was a lot less crowded.
If you are looking for fun, go to Ohana. kids might find some of the polynesian tastes weird, although I am sure they have some standard "kids" dishes.
My thoughts on garden grill are that the foods there are more traditional, so you won't be suprised by weird tastes. Also, we went here when it was not very crowded (around 6 I think) and we had chip and dale at our table for quite a while. We even chased them around the little circle! It was a lot of fun. It's kind of neat for kids too because it revolves and they can look at all the different scenes, but still stay in their seat.

I have adr at 4:15pm, is this considered dinner, also are the meals served family style during that time or do we order from a menu?

If you are referring to the Garden Grill - 4:15 is considered dinner and the food is always served family style. They will bring platters to the table and you can order more of whatever you like.

I have adr @4:15 at ohana, in my opinion is a little too early for dinner, but the only other time available was 9:15pm

I think a picky eater will always have a better chance on eating at Cape May vs. the others. At O'hana a picky child is probably going to have mac 'n cheese or a hot dog and fries (just ask), and that's it. They do have some "games" for the kids. But if your children are shy/introverted, they'd probably enjoy drawing on the tablepaper at Cape May (DD has loved doing this for years - she calls it the place where she gets to color on the table).
