Dining without ADRs

We are going to WDW at the end of July/early August next year. DH doesn't want me to plan too much (I rather overdid things last time). I'm going to make 3 or 4 ADRs but the rest of the time want to take things as they come.

So my question is which Disney Park or Hotel restaurants would be easiest to eat at without ADR (or at a push making an ADR the same day as we eat)?

And is it better to eat early or late?

We only make about 4 or 5 adrs and we never have a problem, last August we made several reservations on the day and ate everywhere we wanted. :goodvibes

Thanks for your replies. That's a relief - I had visions of a fortnight of fast food.

I was thinking about the same thing, we go next month and are on free DDP but only have 7 ADRs. We are staying at POR so can we ask at the hotel front desk about availability that day or do you need to phone up?

Make your reservations as early in the morning as possible. If your in a park at opening time, go straight to guest relations. If you can not get an evening adr, lunch time might be easier. We often booked from the hotel lobby before we left for the parks.
