Dining with an infant

I searched the boards and couldn't find an answer to my question so I apologize if this has been asked before...

We are taking our 3 mo son to Disney tomorrow. We have made all of our dining reservations and my husband asked me what will we do with DS. Honestly, it didn't dawn on me that we wouldn't be able to take the stroller inside the restaurant. So now I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on dining with a baby. He isn't able to sit up on his own, so I don't think he can sit in a high chair. Is our only option to hold him? That's okay if it is. I just thought I would see if there was any other option.

Thanks!

We brought our entire travel system, where the infant seat clicks into the stroller. Then when we went to restaurants we'd park the stroller and bring in the the infant seat (with the baby already in it). If you get a regular highchair and flip it upside down, the infant seat will fit right in the bars of the highchair.

We did this at every restaurant, with the exception of Sci Fi who just let us bring the whole stroller in b/c it wasn't crowded.

Have a great trip!

We were able to take our stroller into some resturants. Otherwise most people bring the infant into the resturant in an infant car seat. Some resturants have a stand to secure the infant car seat to. If they don't you can place the car seat on the ground next to you or I've even seen people put it on the table.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Disney is used to dealing with kids/babies of all ages and the cast members will help direct you to how they typically handle infants at that particular resturant.

Have a great trip.

. . . it didn't dawn on me that we wouldn't be able to take the stroller inside the restaurant. So now I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on dining with a baby. He isn't able to sit up on his own, so I don't think he can sit in a high chair. Is our only option to hold him? . . .

1) In some eateries you can take in the stroller, but not that many.
2) In others, you can ask for a high chair.
. . . they have normal high chairs, with normal design
. . . some have infant-design high chairs that hold infants securely
. . . both, however, are on first-come-first-served basis
3) You can also use a car-seat, as others have mentioned above.
4) The only other option is to hold the infant.

NOTE: Disney is very good about infants and small kids, but the eateries do not have enough room to sallow all the strollers that people bring, and there is a limit as to how many high chairs can be used in the eateries. Even kid-friendly places like WDW have limitations.

Thanks everyone!

We aren't taking our car seat so I suspect we will be holding him. No biggie. He's a good baby.

However, I will definitely ask about the infant high chairs RustyScupper mentioned.

I was on the dining plan with my 2 mo. old baby and had no problem bringing the stroller in to almost every restaurant for the week. Explain you have a 3 mo. old who can't sit up yet---they'll find a way to squeeze the stroller in (they even managed for us at Boma where the tables are very close together, also Le Cellier).

The few restaurants that absolutely don't allow strollers (ie. Crystal Palace) had a special sling high chair for babies that don't sit up. Loved it!

Try not to worry; it will work out.
