Hi,
Is this still going on? Do you know ahead of time who you(imagineer) are having dinner with? Are you in with a group of other diners ? MyDH is interested in dining with an animator not necessarliy an engineer...Has any one done this and is it worth it?

We did in Sept 08. It was lunch at the Brown Derby. I can't remember the name of the Imagineer but he worked in music. You know all that music you hear when you are checking into the resort? That is one of his jobs. We would do it again. You don't get to pick who you get but he was great. He was the producer on No Doubt's first cd. He was very informative and had a true love for all things Disney.

Hope that helps :)

We did it also at the Brown Derby. You don't know who you will get until you get there. You all eat together (12ish people) at a long table with the imagineer in the middle.

Our guy was very nice, the food was just so so. The whole lunch was very awkward though. The 2 families that also joined us turned the whole event into a job interview for their teenage kids. Grilling him with question on how to become an imagineer. One even asked if they could use his name and the lunch on a resume, it was ridiculous.

It got so bad that when he finally chatted to our side and I told him what I do for a living (graphic design) he asked if I was there for a job too.

Would I do it again? If I booked the whole thing with a group of my friends/family, yes. If I could do that AND eat somewhere else, doubly yes.

DH did lunch with an imagineer Jan. 23.
He loved it. He was afraid he would get a duddy imagineer (he is an engineer) ;) but he got Jason, a graphic designer and he was very happy with him.
There were 8 people at lunch plus Jason. It was held in the Bamboo Room at the Brown Derby. DH loves the BD, so he thought the lunch was great.
Was told that there are about 12 imagineers that rotate through.
Jason was the designer of Pixie Hollow, BBB.
They also got a great glass plate that Jason autographed for them.
DH definitely has it on his to do again list.
