Dining with an almost three year old

Okay this may seem dumb to stress about but this is our first time going without the dining plan. My kiddo is not three but talks like she’s way older. When we had the dining plan we were never charged for her sharing our plates. They just looked at our dining plan. She really doesn’t eat much.

We leave in a week and I’m wondering if I have to declare her two before we eat or have to battle that she’s not three yet. I’ve budget for her just in case we’re made to pay for her. I cringe thinking about paying $27 for her at Garden Grill when she’ll MAYBE eat two bites of Mac & cheese and a roll.

Has anyone had any recent experience with kids under three eating at a table service? Thank you!

I have no recent experiences, our kids are 4 and 5 now. But we at at Disney A lot when our kids were almost 3 and never had DDP. I never remember having an issue that wasn’t easily straightened out.

When we took my son at almost three I brought his birth certificate! He was the size of most seven year olds. Never needed it! When DGS was under three he not only ate free off our plates everywhere we went some restaurants insisted he got his own meal free. I know Via Napoli was one but there were others.

I would be floored if anyone came close to questioning you on it. They may ask how old the child is - but when you say she is two that will almost certainly be the end of it.

We traveled with two of our kids when they were just shy of 3, and no one batted an eye about not charging them at buffets/family style meals.

If she is not yet three, you will not have a problem.

The rule of thumb is if you order a meal for a child under 3 you pay. Exception is at aycte, buffets, shows etc there are no additional charges. If a meal is offered at no cost, like crt, go for it
