We be having our first DL visit in February and our first afternoon and evening will be spent outside the parks, checking out hotels and Downtown Disney. I am looking for a fun spot for dinner that night. It will be me, DH, DD11 and DS14 who is a bit of a foodie. Looking for a good dining experience, probably not a character buffet. I was thinking maybe to have dinner in one of the Disney hotels since we want to visit all of them anyway. Thanks for your recommendations.

This is our first trip to DL, and we are in the same boat on our arrival day. I'm planning on trying out the Jazz Kitchen in DTD. Of course, as my screen name suggests, I am partial to Cajun stuff.

Foodies who don't mind dropping a bit of money on a meal eat at Napa Rose in the GCH. Not being a foodie and being a little stingy with the food budget sometimes, I haven't tried it.

Steakhouse 55 in the DLH is also supposed to be a good higher end dining experience. I have only eaten there for breakfast a couple of times but enjoyed it and keep meaning to try dinner sometime.

Tangaroa Terrace at the DLH looks like it has some interesting food choices. Haven't been there either.

Our family has been to several of the downtown Disney locations. We love Jazz Kitchen; we have eaten lunch there several times and brunch twice. La Brea Bakery always disappoints me; I just never feel the food quality/quantity for the price is worth it. Naples was ok, but we didn't feel it was that special. We preferred our soup and salad over the pizzas and just didn't find the pasta menu all that enticing. I hear Catal is a really good dining experience, but I haven't tried it.

DTD has the Jazz Kitchen (amazing), House of Blues (good), RFC (good), ESPN Zone (not a fan) and a few other places. The Garden Walk has Bubba Gump, CA Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Johnny Rockett's and more, and down Harbor you can find a Mimi's, Denny's, IHOP (overpriced IMO), Tony Roma's, Bucca di Beppo, Joe's Crab Shack, Red Robin, Outback.....
