I am looking for dining recommendations near and around the HHI DVC location. Nothing I need a jacket and tie for. I would upgrade from shorts and a tee to khakis and respectable polo.

All thoughts greatly appreciated!

LOL. My DH never brings a jacket and tie on vacation. That's why we've never gone to Victoria and Albert's. Sea Shack or Kenny B's are a few miles away, but you could even wear your shorts and tee there and have a great meal. Mediterranean Harbour, Bristish Open Pub, Black Marlin, Skull Creek Boathouse, Old Oyster Factory, and Poseidon are also ones we really like.

Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks. Not fancy. Very casual.

We went fishing on Captain Hook party group fishing.(Great Trip) Took large Black Drum to them and they made it. Great scenery on water and all food was excellent. Very busy local inside and outside place.

Thank you, all. I see lots of good choices.

Are there any Sunday brunch buffets on the island?

We really enjoy Sea Shack but strongly recommend going for lunch. Lines for dinner are long in our experience.

Our favorite restaurant close to the resort is Poseidon. It is in the Shelter Cove shopping center close to Kroger. In June, we had awesome food and service there.

I know of two, but there are probably more. There's one at Old Fort Pub (pretty fancy) and one at Kenny B's. That second one isn't at all fancy (anywhere that has a roll of paper towels on the table) and it's a very good deal.

The French Bakery right across the harbor in Shelter Cove is wonderful for a quick breakfast. Very short walk. The pastries are amazing!

You'll likely get a lot of suggestions, so I'd take a look at each one's menu to see if there are particular items that appeal to you. There are so many good places to eat at HHI. The one place where we've had consistently good food has been Skull Creek Boathouse (not their new place, Dockside). They don't take reservations, so if you show up during typical dinner dining times, you'll have a wait. However, there's usually a place at the bar and there are lots of outside tables if the weather isn't oppressive. On our last trip back in July, we found a new spot (to us) we really enjoyed: Fishcamp on Broad Creek. Still, there are so many wonderful places, I suspect you'd enjoy most of the recommendations you get on here. Have fun deciding!

Lowcountry Backyard serves a Saturday and Sunday brunch. I believe Old Fort Pub still serves a Sunday brunch - it's a bit fancier.

We ate at Skull Creek Dockside, Scott's (twice) and The Social bakery located next to Scott's for breakfast and oh so yummy baked goods. We liked Dockside the most but it was just so convenient to walk to Scott's.

We agree with Low Country Backyard -- loved it! Honestly, we didn't have a bad meal on the Island -- it was amazing all around!

We agree with almost all the suggestions except for Low Country Backyard - we ate there the last time we were in HH and we did not enjoy it. We both had the Shrimp & Grits and thought they were just meh. We ate inside and also thought the place was not very clean....but they get tons of love on yelp, so maybe we just went on a bad day, but we will not be going back when we are there in Sept. We will definitely be going back to Skull Creek and also Hudson's. For breakfast, we went to Stacks a few times and thought they were good for breakfast food.
