Arriving for our first trip to DL on Sunday Dec. 6th and wanted suggestions for a great counter service dinner in DL park to start our vacation off right. Thanks in advance.

Love the fried chicken from Plaza in too!

This is not really considered quick service, but if you get a chance, eat at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. Food is good and its closing in January  So eat there before its gone!

HTH,
Kriss pirate:

Plaza Inn: Another vote for the fried chicken.
French Market: New Orleans Salad, French Market Chicken, Mickey beignets at the adjacent Mint Julep Bar

Rancho Del Zocalo is a very pretty quick service Mexican restaurant near Big Thunder Mt. Railroad. Great atmosphere and pretty great tostada salad, big enough to split! The Jolly Holiday Bakery is also a great location for people watching, and their sweet treats are perfect for dessert! They have a few sandwiches too, if you're in the mood for something lighter. And of course, you must not miss the Red Wagon Corn Dog Truck! A tasty lunch or dinner for sure!

Have fun planning!

A few actual quick service places that we like are:
-Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland... beef, vegetable or chicken skewers that are delicious
-Edelweiss Snacks in Fantasyland... some love the big turkey legs and corn on the cob
-My favorite - Harbour Galley by Haunted Mansion (and canoes) - soup bread bowls like Lobster bisque and clam chowder and others and loaded baked potatoes... there are some tables behind it on the water as well.
-Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country by Winnie the Pooh - American - hamburgers, salad, chicken burgers, etc... cheaper and lots of seating overlooking the Rivers of America... you can enjoy the boats as they go by
-Another favorite - Plaza Inn!!! Main street by the fantasy land entrance - doesn't look like quick service, but it is... fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, chicken penne pasta, pot roast, cobb salad... servings are huge, the place is old world style elegance and the food is great!
- Royal Street Veranda - New Orleans Square behind Pirates - bread bowls again, clam chowder, veggie gumbo, steak gumbo
- main street on the right side by Plaza Inn is the corndog cart ... best corn dogs!
- Finally, if you've got a little time, catch the show at the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland... they have chicken nuggets, fish and chips and corndogs you can buy and eat while you watch the show.

My guys love the Plaza fried chicken, I love the bread bowls in NO Square. For the most part we eat over in the other park- we find the food is better in general. (I am sad about the fried green tomato sandwich at Hungry Bear being gone- that was amazing.) Bengal BBQ is good if you're not HUGE eaters, but with two giant guys in my party it got super expensive to feed them. Normal humans may have better luck! ;)

We will not eat at the Pizza place in Tomorrowland or Zocalo. Both were just flat out bad.

I really appreciate the suggestions and the Plaza sounds great!

It is really good! Consider splitting as well, because it is a pretty big meal. My husband and I pay $1 more and get two breasts. Then we split the mash, beans, and biscuit. More than enough food. Kids I think can easily share or they have a kids meal with a drumstick.

This!!! Do not eat the pizza- we have picky eaters, garbage disposal eaters (lol they eat everything) and in between and we all hated the pizza!!! However, I have heard the salads at Pizza Port were great.

I really enjoyed the price, simplicity and seating at Hungry Bear- plus no wait! We also are fans of Rancho Del Zocalo (they have huge portions and unique toddler meals), the bread bowls in NO square and the corn dogs. We plan on trying the Plaza chicken this time but I've heard it ms good and easy to split. Also- don't forget to get a goodie like a dole whip or something special to DLR to start out your first night right lol

If you have time during your trip try and fit in a lunch or dinner (we prefer dinner) at BTRBBQ. It's an all you can eat BBQ and its being taken out for good to make way for Starwars Land. It's a must for us on each trip.
