So I am bringing my mother with my family to Disney next year. She is hard to please which is why I am freaking out. I want her, as well as, my almost two year old son to have a great time.

I have picked out these restaurants so far... What do you think? I know I can't do the all, but I would like your opinion. We are staying AKL club level, so I don't want to plan any of my dining options as breakfast. What do you think of these?

Boma
CRT
Whispering Canyon Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Ohana
Kona
Chef Mickeys
Narcoossees

Please let me know which is better for lunch or dinner too!!!

TIA

Pleasing your picky Mom while taking care of your less than 2 yo son is a challenge. More adult focused restaurants that may appeal to Mom will not be the best places for a toddler.
I have never chosen to eat at Boma, but I do not see it as a choice for a picky eater.
CRT is expensive for what it is, but eating in the castle is magical. Only you can decide.
WCC is great for families, but it may be too load for Mom.
I have never eaten at 1900 Park Faire, so I can not comment.
We loved both 'OHana and Kona for very different reasons. We were seated at the window at 'OHana and enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the food and unexpectedly Wishes through the window. It is fairly loud, but lots of fun for school age children with Hula Hoop contests and coconut races.
Kona was a more sedate meal and we loved it. I think there are choices for your picky Mom, but less for your inpatient toddler.
Chef Mickey's is great for little ones not afraid of the larger than life characters. The food is so so. It is a buffet, so your Mom may find things she likes.
Narcossee's is a wonderful restaurant. I think the experience is too adult, too slow for a toddler. I think your Mom would love it, but I think your little one would be bored and antsy.
Good Luck,

Thanks so much for your observations. I should have been more clear in saying that she isn't a picky eater, just expects alot out of restaurants as in experience and food. I def think Boma is off for now!!!

We stayed AKL CL in Oct and agree, you can totally eat breakfast there every day and not go hungry! Plenty to choose from....but I say you should try Boma breakfast once, it is incredible.

Thos are the ones I can comment on:

Boma: I think it is a great restaurant and a unique experience. The buffet has so many different options and the food is very fresh there. I would absolutely recommend it.

Whispering Canyon: I think it is a lot of fun. I guess it would be great to keep a kid entertained, but might also be a bit much if kids are starting to get tired. It is also very loud there.

Kona: I like the food there, it is a bit special but not too strange. I think most people get good service here. And you get to visit the Polynesian which is a beutiful resort. If you are using Disney Transportation you can use this as an opportunity to go by monorail, but the boat trip to/from the MK is great, too.

Also, I would suggest thinking about the following restaurants:

Jiko: It is a beautiful restaurant, I loved the food there. It is more adult, just as someone mentioned with regard to Narcossees, but it would be directly at your resort, sso perhaps a little bit easier to manage with a small child.

Le Cellier: Great food and people write a lot about how friendly the service is here

Boma, Narcooses, 1900 Park fare and Chef Mickey's do not usually serve lunch. I know CM does serve lunch during high demand times like last September. (Don't know if you realize Disney has offered free dining with rack room rates the last few years.)

CRT has princesses and leading ladies at lunch but not dinner. Dinner has the Fairy Godmother, Suzy and Perla doing a show during the meal. Cinderella is downstairs to meet her guests at both meals. Frankly, unless you really want to dine in the castle, I''m not sure this is the best choice. We have gone the last two trips and will be making an ADR for CRT in less than two weeks. The food at lunch is good but not great and the attraction is the castle and the characters.

Whispering Canyon used to be rowdy at dinner. There was a recent thread about the antics being toned down somewhat. Lunch is usually calmer and the Wilderness Lodge is worth touring.

Boma, Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare are buffets. Some people don't like buffets. Boma has really good food. Chef Mickey and 1900 Park Fare are good. The latter two have characters. What grandmother doesn't put up with a lot to see their grandchild have fun?

Of the ones you mention, we have been to:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Chef Mickeys

We found Whispering Canyon Cafe way overrated as far as antics and the food, we thought, was awful (DH actually got sick eating something from the skillet--the ribs or the chicken).

We always enjoyed Chef Mickey's with the kids. We've not been in four years because we prefer Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom.

We were supposed to have dinner at Boma in Spetember, but cancelled becasue we were too tired. We have read pros/cons for dinner, but we are definitely doing breakfast next September!
