Dining Seating time - Reasons you chose 1st or 2nd?

Thank you for all the input throughout this thread. I had the same original question; however, reading through this raised an additional question to help figure out which would be best for my family. Can someone please post the dining/show times for each seating. Our 'on board' times for each port are from 3:45-5:30 and I would like to know what time we would truly need to be back on the ship to make it to either dinner/show or show/dinner. TIA for this info.

Also, we are currently assigned second seating (which I AM leaning towards liking better), but, if we DO want to change it, how difficult is this to do?

Thanks for the show and dinner timings, am I right in thinking the shows are about 45-60 minutes long? therefore we will be out of the early show at about 7 so then have an hour to catch the last of the sun and a cocktail before getting ready for the late dining.

I love the late afternoon sun so wouldn't choose first sitting, on our first cruise early dining was chosen for me (travelling with in laws), and I hated having to leave the sunshine, the pool and my book to go and get dressed up before 5!
