Dining Search Options - my experience

Just a friendly post for people to review my experience with Disney Dining Buddy, ******** and Disney Scout. I started using Disney Dining Buddy first as it was the only service I had read about. I spent about $50 to search for restaurants...I missed the opening of my ADR window by 3 hours (darn alarm clock!).

After very few alerts for a month I finally received a ton of alerts for BOG but they came at 2am that day when all those ADR times opened for BOG but I was snoozing and missed all of them. Not DDB fault at all. As my trip was nearing the 60 day mark I knew the time was coming for people to be firming up plans to coordinate with FP+ so I expected a lot of alerts. I was really getting very few. After reading more DIS posts I learned about Scout & ********. 3 weeks ago I signed up for the free Scout search and have actually not received 1 alert in that entire time! I opted to pay the $21 to ******** and my alerts are blowing up!

I have secured Ohana (even changed my times around) and Akershus with ********. I received no alerts from Scout and DDB was about 20 minutes after the WDW alert! So, I am holding out hope it finds my other requests!

Long story short, I would recommend ******** to everyone and $21 isn't bad to secure my happiness

Happy Booking!

Hmm, not sure why the service I recommended is ****** out but hopefully through process of elimination people can guess which service it is!

These 3 sites only search for availability, they don't book any reservations. They don't contribute to the ADR scalping issue that has recently been discussed. Not sure why it is shameful to use a service that does the checking even though I still do the booking.

I agree that these sites are fine to use. THey take nothing from anyone. if there was a few must have ADR's that I needed I would gladly pay for an alert, and hope I was fast enough to get online and book.

I don't agree with these sights. They do take things away plus the demand they put on Disney's servers slows things down for the rest of us!

As for the asterisks... that means the site you tried to reference is banned. Generally occurs when the site self promoted on here without paying an advertising fee.

That is interesting on the site being banned because it is a site that I checked out based on a recommendation from these boards. Oh well, I appreciate the feedback.

I'm glad you were able to get the ADRs you wanted. :)

For those who paid for Disney Dining Scout, just to let you know: Someone mentioned on another thread that on Disney Dining Scout's terms, that they will automatically bill you for another 6 months or 12 months unless you click on the cancellation link on Disney Dining Scout's site. But there is no cancellation link. Someone said that Disney Dining Scout said they forgot to add one and would have one up in the next few days. But it's been about a week.
