This is our first cruise ever and I'm a little confused about how the dining works. We are going to do the land/sea package with four days on the Wonder.

Now, just so that I am completely clear, the rotational dining only refers to dinners, correct? Is there also rotational dining for breakfast and lunch, or does everyone just go wherever they want? Is there any preferences as to which place to get the best breakfast or the best lunch? I've heard of Topsiders, Pluto's and Pinnochio's and Scoops, but I'm not really sure as to which one to go to when. I'm also not sure which is a buffet, which is full serve, which is counter service! I've also heard that when we first get on the ship you can go to have lunch, but where?

Also, just to make sure I have this dress code thing down....Palo is dressy, Tritons is also dressy. Parrot Cay is casual and Animators Palate is also casual.

Whew, boy, do I need some help!

Rotational dining only refers to dinner. There isn't a formal night on the 4-night cruise. Resort casual (no jeans or shorts at dinner). You may choose to eat at any of the restaurants for breakfast and lunch. I don't believe Animators Pallet serves breakfast or lunch. Beach Blanket Buffet on deck 9 (Wonder) only serves buffets and you have the choice of outside dining.

You may want to look into purchasing Passporters Field Guide: Disney Cruise Line. Check out Passporter.com. I just came back from my first ever cruise on the Disney Magic and loved having this book as a reference. And of course, this is the best sight to get lots of answers to your questions.

Breakfast and lunch at Tritons is a little more upscale and is served to you. Breakfast and lunch at PC or BBB are buffet - a little more choice and "grazing" Scoops, Pinnochio's and Plutos are counter service.

They are open different hours, and you can eat as often as you like. We found ourselves at BBB one day because it was open early for a light breakfast (juice and rolls), then back at Tritons two hours later for "breakfast."

When you arrive on board you will be directed to either BBB or Parrot Cay - you can choose to dine at the other venue - its Disney efficiency filling one first, then the other, so that everyone finds a seat and people are wandering. Or you can grab something from the counter service venues. There are advantages to each option. BBB allows you to sit outside (if you can find an outside table). Parrot Cay has an easier buffet line to deal with. And the burger/pizza counters let you grab something and sit by the pool (you can take your tray from BBB to the pool as well).
