Dining Rotation and Infant question

Hi. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise on October 24th (4 night), but I can't remember... when do you find out your dining rotation? I know that it is on the ticket in your stateroom, but do you also find out when you check in?

Also, we will be travelling with our new son who will be 5 months at the time of the trip. We plan on doing Palo's one night, so of course he'll be in Flounder's that night. But on the other nights, we will take him to dinner with us. My question is: what do you usually dress your little ones in for dinner?

I guess I have one other question too. This may be dumb, but we're new to this! If we bring his carseat, do we have to bring the base part of it that straps into the car or just the carseat part?

Thank you for any advice!!

You will know the rotation as soon as you get your KTTW card at check in. The rotation, table # and whether you have 1st or 2nd seating will be on the card.

I would dress my infant in whatever he is comfortable in. He will be adorable in anything you choose.

The way my carseat worked, you could use it either way. You didn't have to have the base to strap it in the car correctly. Check your manual to see how to install it without the base.

That depends on what you intend to do with it... If you're just using it as a place for him to sit on the airplane, you probably won't need the base, if you intend to use it as a Car Seat, you'll probably want the base too. If you go that route, get a gadget (at most baby stores) called a "mity-tite" to ratchet the seatbelt down on the base - they're great for travel where you're moving the base around a lot.

We went to WDW last November with our (then) 5 1/2 month old DD, and took the car seat & base since the carseat was part of the stroller system. It turned out that we didn't use it much (except on the plane) since she chose that week to figure out how to sit up by herself  We did use the stroller a lot & carried her.

Enjoy your baby and the cruise.

Almost every infant seat I've seen that comes with a base for the car can also be used without the base. If this is the case, then I wouldn't bother bringing the base. There really is not much difference between using the base and not. The main reason for most bases is to have a semi permanat installation in the car so all you have to do is plop the carrier down in the seat and don't have to refasten every time. The other thing the base does is to help position the seat correctly, but as long as you know how to do this yourself, it's not problem. If I remember correctly we were told to use a towel in my moms car to get the seat to sit at the proper angle when not using the base. We used a noodle in our car with the base, because even with the base it wasn't positioned at the correct angle.

I would just make sure to check the directions, know how to use it withough the base and not bother bringing along something else, unless you're renting a car and are going to install it and then not bother with it the rest of the time.

Dress the baby so he is comfortable! You and he will be much happier that way.
