1 Fork = Poor 2 Forks Average 3 Forks = Good 4 Forks = Excellent
Rose and Crown - My DH and I both agree that this restaurant gets 3.5 forks. We split the cheese & fruit appetizer which was yummy. We both had the fish & chips. My DH hates peas so I got his too. The fish was very good. It was not fishy or greasy. The service was excellent. This continues to be one of our favorites.

Boma's Breakfast - My DH and I both agree this restarant gets a 4 forks. We ate here 3 mornings out of 6. Does that tell you anything? Everything is yummy from the made to order omlettes to the french toast. I never thought I would eat roast pork for breakfast but I had a slice each morning. It is soo good I wish they had it for dinner too. Boma's breakfast is enough to make us stay at the AKL resort!

Crystal Palace Breakfast - My DH and I both agree this restaurants gets 3.5 forks. It loses 1/2 a fork because I snitched a character waffle from the kids section and it was cold & hard. But, we had no complaints about anything else. DH especially liked his omlette & the breakfast lasagna. I could live on the puffed french toast & cheesy hash brown casserole. I have tried to make the puffed french toast at home but it is not nearly the same. The waiter said they used wonder bread texas toast & then deep fry it in hot oil. I never would have thought wonder bread could taste that good.

Boma's Dinner - I give this restaurant 4 forks but DH only gives it 3. I disagree with others on the board who say that a picky eater who likes plain food would be happy here. I don't think they would be. DH said the prime rib was just okay. I asked for an end, burnt piece and thought it was excellent. We both enjoyed the falafel (spelling ???). The corn chowder was yummy as were the grilled veggies. DH wished there was regular bread. I liked the type of bread they served. The flat bread & hummus were excellent too. DH said chicken was very good. I wanted to save room for dessert so I did not try it. And of course the desserts are excellent. We both had caramel cheesecake. DH had African fruit salad which I tasted and it was very good. I also had one of the little pecan tarts. Neither one of us like the zebra domes so we left our share for you zebra dome lovers who were there the same time we were.

Thanks for the reviews.
We are going to be going to Boma for breakfast on our next trip. We are only making a PS for one day but since we are staying at AKL and people rave about the breakfast.... we may eat there more than once. Do you think
We should make a couple different PS's for it or is it easy to just walk in if we decide one morning that we want to go again?
Last time we stayed there we ate at Boma for dinner and loved it so we can't wait to try it for breakfast. :cool1:

We are also trying Crystal Palace for breakfast for the first time ( last time we went for dinner) good to hear it was good also. As well as Rose and Crown which we will be trying for the first time . :D

Thanks for the reviews!
I tried Boma for the first time last month and I too was very happy with it.

I enjoyed reading your reviews. Boma is a fav although we've not tried it for breakfast, yet!

I think it depends on the time of year you are there and the number of people in your party. We made a PS for our first and last mornings there. Check in took longer than we thought and we arrived about a 1/2 lhour late and were seated immediately. We also walked in during the middle of our stay around 9:30 in the morning and were seated immediately. We did a walk in for dinner too after story telling last Fri night around 7:15 in the eve. I though we would be turned away because it looked very crowded and we were told the resort was sold out for the weekend when we tried to get an extra night added on to our stay. But we were seated with only about a 5 minute wait. But, I would hate to have you get there and try to do a walk in and be turned away because we didn't have any trouble getting in. I have started to make PS for things we think we really want to do and then we cancel them if we change our minds. If it something that we don't really care if we miss, we take our chances and if it doesn't work out then we don't regret not making a PS. So if you think you really might want to do Boma more than once if you really like it, I would make a PS and then cancel if you change your mind. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy these restaurants as much as we do! :D

Thanks, I think we will do that. It can't hurt to stick another one in there just in case. Thanks Sherry
