Hey Everyone! We got back from WDW about two weeks ago, but this is the first chance that I've had to post my dining reviews! Here it goes...

First Day

Dinner: Portabello Yacht Club (8 on a scale of 10)
I really liked the atmosphere of PYC and we were lucky enough to not be there when it was too busy. My DH thought it was the best meal of the trip (we all had pasta), but the sauce on mine was just too meaty tasting. DD and DS (both 17) liked it as well.

Second Day

Lunch: Columbia Harbor House (9)
As far as counter service goes, this one was was great. DH had the fried fish and liked it, DS and DD both had the chicken fingers, and I had the salad. All great and we had the upstairs almost all to ourselves.

Dinner: Restaurant Marrakesh (9)
This was one of our best meals. I loved the interior, the belly dancer, and the food. I would have given this one a 10 if it hadn't been for the small children who kept running around the restaurant and playing with what looked to be either expensive or rare musical instruments. I know i should be used to it after having two of my own, but I was still surprised by some parents letting their kids have free reign that hindered the CM's from doing their jobs.

Third Day

Lunch: Teppanyaki (10!!!)
My favorite without a doubt. The food was light and delicious, our chef was very friendly, and it was a wonderful break from the hot day. I had never tried this before and was very impressed.

Dinner: San Angel (8)
Even though the atmosphere was great and our DD had a blast putting her spanish to work with the waiter, the food was less than amazing. My steak was overcooked (which I will not complain about too much b/c its better than undercooked) and only my DS cleaned his plate, but that's no surprise :D

Fourth Day

Lunch: Wide World of Sports (10)
Ballpark Hotdogs....need i say more!

Dinner: Artist Pointe (7)
I try to be positive about every restaurant, but I had a hard time with this one. Our service was slow, the food was mediocore, and the prices were just too much for what we got. But I also wasn't feeling very well, so maybe that had something to do with it. However, this is probably one of two I won't go back to.

Fifth Day

Lunch: Brown Derby (9)
DS and I both had the Cobb Salads and loved them. I love the atmosphere of Brown Derby and it was not crowded at all when we went. Very Enjoyable!

Dinner: Whispering Canyon (6)
This is another I won't go back too. It was deafening at some points, we were shoved in a corner, and our waiter was never there when we needed him. The food (I had the pasta) was nothing to write home about. However, my DH ate here for lunch one day when he was feeling sick and had to go back to the hotel and said it had been a lot quieter.

This is it! If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

hi,
great reviews - just one question. It seems like dining at WL rest. didnt go so well - I have a PS at WC for dinner - could you tell me a little more about the place and food - how is it for kids under 6?
thanks

What time did you go to Portobello? I'd like to go in December, and I'd like to go when it's not terribly busy. Did you make a PS ahead of time or did you just show up?

Thanks!

Let me just say that we went the WC on a Friday night and I think it was so crowded because new resort guests were coming in and looking for a convenient place to eat. With that said, it might not be so hectic when you go. Also, the younger kids that I saw seemed to enjoy themselves, especially with the games. The same games weren't as appealing to my 17-year-olds :D
The food is mostly ribs, chicken, pork, ect. My DH said the meatloaf was pretty good and my DS pretty much liked the chicken he got. However, I wouldn't recommend the pasta. Maybe it's not what they do best because it was pretty bland and I could only find a few pieces of the chicken the menu promised. The atmosphere will probably be loud whenever you go from the looks of it, but the theming is alright and you do get to look out on the beautiful WL lobby. There is also an all-you-can-eat option that you could try. My favorite part of the meal was the cornbread  I hope this helps!

We had PS for 6:30 on a Monday night and walked right in b/c it wasn't crowded, but we made them them the day of. I think we lucked out in a couple of ways: one, we went during a less crowded time of the year; two, it had started sprinkling as we got to DD so i think that caused some to leave; and three; i don't know if monday nights are incredibly busy. But, a couple who came in ahead of us without a PS was seated right after us, so I don't think they waited long. Even when we left the restaurant still hadn't filled up.

Hi there... is the cobb salad huge?

I ordered one at another restaurant and was totally embarrassed when it arrived - it looked like a salad for 8 people!

Thanx
